Meeting #3: Similar

  1. This is the opposite of opposites: play someone similar to yourself. They don't have to be mundane- maybe they just have a few traits that you have, or their overall personality is similar. I find I rarely do this, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to do so for everyone.
  2. Eileen enters the room and bites her lip nervously as she scans the room. She looks over at you and smiles shyly.

"Hi, my name is Eileen," she greets you in a soft tone. "What's yours?"
  3. "Rowan," the green-cloaked woman answers. A Golden Eagle rests on her left fist, fluffed and content.
  4. Before Eileen could extend her slender, pale arm for a handshake, she noticed the bird on the woman's left fist. The young blonde then frowned, confused, then glanced back at Rowan again with a polite grin. "Oh, what a beautiful bird!" she cooed. "What's his name?"
  5. "Her name is Shyrrik. It means 'fierce sky huntress' in my native tongue." She looks at her companion fondly and strokes the bird's breast. As she turns, you see a quiver of arrows and a bow on her back.
  6. Kira stood silently at the side, watching the exchange. Oh why was she here? She doesn't understand why she had to be here when she could be off doing something else like talk to her best friend Minx, or sleep, or drink tea. Keeping her face a cool look, Kira stayed at the corner and planned for any possible escape routes. Her bag held her trusty IPad as well as her notebooks and her pencil case. Along with that book she hasn't gotten down to reading....
  7. Shyriik watches Kira with her golden-yellow eyes, alert and analytical. It squawks and shifts, nibbling Rowan´s glove.
  8. Kira looked at Shyriik with almost wistful eyes. An eagle that seemed just as fierce as their namesake. Maybe she could include it in a story. Kira looked to the side pretending not to be interested. It's best if she didn't cry over what other people have that you don't. What kind of spoilt, ungrateful brat is she for wanting something when she already has good friends, a whole family, technology, food, and most importantly an education!

Licking her lips, Kira brought out her IPad and began typing on it. Hopefully she could distract herself from wishing fro something that she knew will not come her way.
  9. Seeing Kira's wistful eyes, Rowan opens her hand, releasing her grip on the bird's jesses. It takes off, flying over and landing on Kira's table. Curious, it nibbles at the iPad screen, all the while watching Kira with one golden eye.
"Why give up on a dream just because you have other things?" Rowan asks Kira as she stands and approaches her.
  10. Kira jumped in surprised. "What do you mean?" She asked genuinely, she does have a dream, big and grandiose as it may be, but she hasn't given up. She'd be pained to give up, that would make her a fireless person with no passion.

Kira knew she wasn't being insulted, more like meeting some sort of inspirational person, she guessed.

"I do have a dream, big as it is, and I don't plan on giving up. I don't give up when I'm dead set on it." Besides, Kira smiled at the curious bird, she's sure a bird of beauty such as that was hard to care for. Kira and Minx did plan on getting a German Shepherd once they had the proper accommodations.
  11. Rowan smiles. "Shyriik, leave that alone," she tells the eagle. "What is your dream, then?" She asks.
  12. Eileen listens quietly to the two individuals talking back and forth, wishing that she could chime in without any fear. Oh, why was she cursed with this horrible disease called shyness?
  13. Seeing Eileen's longing gaze, Rowan pulls up another chair and gestures for her to join them.
  14. Kira smiled fondly, "To see the world with a great friend of mine," Eyes bright at the idea of see the wonders of the world and learning of other cultures and ideals of other people. The mere thought of it always brightened her up.

"I've already have a vague idea when it comes to money and income," Kira said gently. Noticing Eileen join them she smiled in what she hoped was assuring.

"I understand what it's like to be shy." Shifting her eyes she then continued, "So don't be afraid we don't bite." She checked her IPad notes again. All that was written in it were simple sentences in German.

    Die Mädchen ist jung

It did serve to make her feel confident going through and reviewing what she's learnt.
  15. Eileen's lips began to separate as she began to speak, but no words came out.

"Come on, Eileen!" she thoug!ht to herself. "Stop being such a wimp! Just say something!"

She peered over at Kira and smiled. "So, your name is...?"
