What got you into art? A family member? A friend? An artist? Random impulse one day? What's your story?

wanted to my writings to be illustrated in some way, got interested in comics, decided to learn enough to draw my own comics.

I guess I was influenced by my sister who was really into drawing; so I started playing around with crayons, pencils, and eventually paint as well as charcoal. I don't draw as much anymore, but I do sketch still from time to time.

My grandma pretty much raised me for quite awhile when I was younger and she and my grandpa were artists. My grandma sketched and painted landscapes and still-life's and my grandpa painted seascapes. I just always loved my grandparents paintings and my grandma really fostered my love of art by taking me to art museums and shows and teaching me techniques and getting me art supplies.

One day my grandmother was complimenting my sister on a drawing she had done, and I decided that I wanted to be good at drawing. So I started sketching.

One day, while sitting at a desk with a paper and pen, I drew a picture from a story (that was within my head). I continued to draw it, adding shading and cross-hatching until it looked perfect. And every since then, I have always loved to draw.

Well, ever since 2nd grade when my mom signed me up for art lessons, I have just absolutely loved art and from then, I have increased greatly!
