The last hours of the challenge are approaching! If you're trying for the first position on the leaderboards, or slipping your ten reviews in before the month closes, don't stop now! You have a few hours left until this challenge ends. But don't worry about missing the deadline as there will be a post to tell you when this is over - tagging all of you.

Keep striving forward, my friends! Best of luck in the final hours.

    Apricity replied · Jan 31, 2015

It ws February around, ten hours ago. XD

    TimmyJake replied · Jan 31, 2015

Yes, but you can continue reviewing for the challenge until YWS says it's February!

    Deanie replied · Feb 1, 2015

YWS says it is February for everyone at different times ^^ Depending on your own time zone.

    Kickstart replied · Feb 1, 2015

Okay, then until the leaderboards say it's february. xD

GUYS GUYS GUYS - LOOK AT YOUR DATES

That's right - only two and a half days left before the challenge is over! That means if you were striving to complete ten reviews, now is the final drive before it ends. Remember: everyone who completes ten reviews or more will receive one thousand points for their efforts. For those who have passed by that milestone, continue pushing forward. I've noticed many competitors doing amazing on the leaderboards lately, and I know you guys will finish strong. Good luck! Continue to make me proud. <3

    BrumalHunter replied · Jan 29, 2015

Go, everyone, make that one last push!

[I am so glad I am a judge and not a participant - I would have failed miserably.]

If you guys are looking for stuff to review, check out the green room. There are currently 96 works in there. If everyone who is signed up for the challenge did one review on the works that have 1 review then we would basically clear out a third of the green room. Just a thought. Plenty of works to read! Okay... That is all.

We're two-thirds of the way to the finish line now! Only eleven days left to go so perhaps not quite two-thirds, and I'm really proud of all the work you guys are doing. While I don't see huge numbers flooding YWS, I see lots of consistent reviewers in leaderboards, writing reviews at their own pace and slowly moving up on those above them. And I see those who have put in their ten reviews, and are now awaiting their reward. You all are doing wonderful. c:

This isn't a novel of mine, but I enjoy it and think you would, too. c:

We're halfway there now! By now, it seems as though everyone has found their comfortable groove in number, and hopefully quality continues to thrive. Remember, remember, remember: just because you can't do 50 reviews during the challenge doesn't mean you can't be a winner. Everyone who does 10 reviews during the challenge receives 1000 points for their efforts.
Good luck in the second half! c:

Oh good. At least my minimal effort (and forgetting about the contest) will be payed.

Challenge is one-third of the way to the finish line! Many of our contestants are already in the front of the leaderboards, and I spy quite a few moving up in the ranks. Don't worry if you're not in the front - not a big deal. Now that you're a third into the challenge, you should have found the number of reviews you can comfortably write in a day/week. Keep strictly to that, and you'll review strong through to the finish!

    Keep reviewing, my friends. C:

It figures I hit my dry patch when this happens.

  • Kickstart replied · Jan 9, 2015

I just think they're holding back until the end of the month. That has got to be it. heehee

    Lefty replied · Jan 9, 2015

Where can you see the list of top reviewers?

    BrumalHunter replied · Jan 9, 2015

Go to the home page, scroll down and click leaderboards.

    godlypopo replied · Jan 9, 2015

I'm trying to do a review every other day.

    Kickstart replied · Jan 10, 2015

A review every other day is a good plan. :3 Do what you can do without burning yourself out. Keep reviewing strong! c:

  • BrumalHunter replied · Jan 9, 2015

Of course. If you are in the top ten of the month, then you automatically qualify, so hopefully that helps as well.

    Kickstart replied · Jan 9, 2015

I don't actually understand what you're asking, Flite. You want the days to be deducted? We dun count days - only reviews. So, um, in the end, the only thing that matters is the number of reviews you write, and not the number of days you spent writing them. I don't know if that was your question, but there it is. I hope it answers it. ^.^

    Apricity replied · Jan 10, 2015

As in...because I don't get the same amount of days as everyone else to write review. As I will be missing Internet connection for five days, I'm not going to be able to write ad many reviews. Will that be counted against me?

    BrumalHunter replied · Jan 10, 2015

You are already in the top ten, so unless you are somehow ousted, the reviews will not be a problem. However, when it comes down to judging the quantity, we (the judges) shall probably determine how much you ordinarily write and then add the amount we estimate you would have written in those five days to your total review count. Does this answer your question?

    Kickstart replied · Jan 10, 2015

Okay, so here is your answer to the question. While we would love to add on those reviews to your count, I don't think it feasible. Putting aside any other reasons why we couldn't, what would the other competitors think? Just because you can't write a review on those days, we cannot bump your score higher. I know it sounds unfair, but the playing field has to be completely even. And, if we did exceptions like this for every competitor, there would be a headache's worth of stuff to add up.

If you are in the top ten at the end of the month (for the people who are in the contest), you are in the final "round" of the judging. From there, we will judge based on quality. Quantity is scored simply on the number of reviews you write, coming up to only half of the overall score.

I'm sorry for all the confusion. And I hope this answer is okay with you. It's all we can do. :/

    BrumalHunter replied · Jan 11, 2015

Oh well. The boss has spoken! Sorry.

  • TimmyJake replied · Jan 7, 2015

Yeah, and I am sorry. >.< I tried to send the PM at the exact moment the leaderboards were cleared for the next month... and it didn't work out the first time. The third PM actually was sent out at the moment they were clear for this month. heehee At least it's all cleared up now. ^.^
