My favourite character in Celtic mythology is either:
Morgaine, Arthur's half-sister
OR
Elaine of Astolat (aka The Lady of Shalott) who married Sir Lancelet and created a struggle between herself and Queen Gwenhwyfar, who was madly in love with Sir Lancelet,

Definiately Morgan le Fey. She's a sorceress who was trained by Merlin himself, but turned against him and- unless I'm remembering wrong, tell me so- gave birth to Mordred- who happens to be the illegitimate son of Arthur.
