How do you think this story will end? What do you think of the story, thus far?
Well since I've read the book four hundred times, I know exactly how.

How would you describe the character of Augustus Waters, and how do you feel he was portrayed in the book? Did he feel life like to you?

Augustus wants to be noticed. He wants to be noticed so much, he'll literally do anything to achieve it. For instance, his cigarette, that's just a way to draw attention to himself. His obsession with metaphors is another way he wishes to be noticed. I think in his mind, noticing metaphors in things makes him superior to other humans, ones that don't see a metaphor in everything. I think in the book he's portrayed as a scared little boy that's trying to be brave. Yes, he feels real.

How would you describe the character Hazel Grace, and how do you feel she was portrayed in the book? Did she feel real to you?
Hazel has accepted her death. She's defeated, finds nothing worth anything anymore. She's ready to go, and what she's trying to do is make it to where she doesn't hurt anyone else before she leaves. She's separating herself from everything. She's portrayed very heartless, almost, because of this. She feels really just because people really do that when they think they're going to die soon.

Well I have read it all so...

But I think the story is okay. Before this I heard a lot about people who had cried during reading this book, and although I know moments where people can cry, and moments which are worth a lot in the book, I think it was a good book. But not great in my opinion... (maybe I'm just harsh :3)

How would you describe the character of Augustus Waters, and how do you feel he was portrayed in the book? Did he feel life like to you?

I agree with Sparky. Augustus wants to be noticed, and leave his own print in the sands of time. Almost like any one of use I suppose. He feels like a real character to me, and I can see how many other people can relate to his character.

How would you describe the character Hazel Grace, and how do you feel she was portrayed in the book? Did she feel real to you?

Hazel knows she's going to die, accepts it, and wants to hurt a little as possible in the process. Which is fine, but (I feel like I'm repeating Sparky) she's building walls to separate herself. I think Augustus comes through to her though.

I love the story so far! It's original and fresh; the very thing I've been craving for after reading horribly redundant story lines. I think the story will end with Augustus dying and Hazel being sad but with a different perspective of life.

How would you describe the character of Augustus Waters, and how do you feel he was portrayed in the book? Did he feel life like to you?

So far I think he is witty and charismatic. He is just the thing a girl who is dying and has given up on life needs ( I need that too even though I'm not dying) I feel that if he didn't have cancer he would be a lot like the Sirius Black; full of life and a troublemaker. He felt almost too good to be true, but that's just me

How would you describe the character Hazel Grace, and how do you feel she was portrayed in the book? Did she feel real to you?

Hazel is my fictional, dying, soul sister. Her interaction with her mother getting me to socialize could be the script to my life. It's not that I hate life or have a lot of trouble making friends it's that I enjoy my own company and don't feel the need to MAKE friends that I don't already have.

How do you think the relationship between Augustus and Hazel will end?

Well, since I think he will die at the end,the relationship will end with him dying. Death is the ultimate relationship breaker. Hazel will be sad because her boyfriend is dead. That is what I think.

(My mind is on cavewoman Stella mode because of exhaustion so please excuse my simplistic language. )

Like AIA. I was so afraid Hazel would die in the midst of telling her story after Gus. I was terrified at the thought of her dying.

How would you describe the character of Augustus Waters, and how do you feel he was portrayed in the book? Did he feel life like to you?

One word - perfect.

Seriously, I grew attached to him. I fell in love with him as he fell in love with Hazel. He's simply perfect. I can't even put into words how much I love him and I literally started crying when he died.

He was so very alive in my mind and lives in my heart.

How would you describe the character Hazel Grace, and how do you feel she was portrayed in the book? Did she feel real to you?

One word - strong.

Hazel.. No words. I just, she is one of the strongest people I have ever met. And yes, she is alive to me. I'd like to believe she lived. She is an inspiration to me.

How do you think the relationship between Augustus and Hazel will end?

I think you meant how did I think?

I knew. I'm sad to say I knew Augustus would die because I accidentally flipped the book open to one of the last chapters and the words jumped off the page - "AUGUSTUS' FUNERAL" and I started to cry.

I knew they would love each other until one or the other or both died. They were meant for each other. There was simply no alternative in my mind. Augustus Waters belonged to Hazel Grace Lancaster, and vise versa.

Song to add to the list: Shake It Out - Glee or Florence + the Machine

I have to disagree with you hear, Kellie my dear. Augustus isn't perfect. In fact, he's the opposite of perfect. He's a jerk, he's self centered, he's obsessed, he's pretentious. We love him because he overcomes all of that, because he redeems himself by being charming and a good friend, and we love him because he fixes Hazel. If we stripped that away, we'd see that he was just a scared little boy that was obsessed with making his mark on the world.
