I have started a thread and I am getting people to join and then I will divide the people randomly in different clans before the novel starts....

What kind of plot do you have in mind?
Also, completely randomly may not end up to be the perfect idea.. See, you might want to check the way people SB, and divide them in those clans by using some logic. For example, there are Storybookers who want to dominate the Storybooks they're in and fight others, and there are those who want to have fun SBing and prefer to just go with the flow.. And if the clans, by dividing randomly, happen to be those two groups I mentioned against each other, you won't really have much of an interesting story in the end, I'm afraid. Of course, as always, that might not be truth and I might be wrong - I don't know whom you have nor what the stry will be about ^^
