Ok guys, so now finally we have an art club back, it's been so long I don't even know how to start this up again xD
Basically, what do you guys want to see happen here? What kind of club do you want? IDEAS IDEAS IDEAS!
One thing that worked in the past was a monthly contest, the members would think up a theme together and then post their work and vote on a winner. It helped a ton with motivation, plus stuff was getting reviewed a lot because everyone would usually check out the other member's pieces.
So we could have contests, challenges, that sort of thing going on here. Also we can take advantage of the forums to post things like tips, tutorials, or other art-related help stuff. Even posting links to other artists or stuff you think is awesome x) Or even just goofing off and turning this place into a party zone sounds like fun too lol.
Anyone have any ideas to kick-start the club?

I think we could do a group portait, with each member being represented by something. My friend did that once, and it was awesome.

We could do more challenges, with different themes.
And some sort of doodle/sketch thing...that would be fun. -

Fruit can you describe the group portrait a little more? I'm not totally sure what you mean xP Is it something where each of us draws ourselves and we make a collage? Or we draw each other?

The picture would be like this. One person (Or each, if you wanted to, but not everyone has a scanner, so the quality could get bad), would draw something that resembles each person in the group. For example, if I were doing it, I would probably just draw a sheep for you blacksheep. I wouldn't do it though because I don't have a scanner. But when I were done, I could put it up, and someone else could color it. Make sense? (If not I'll try to explain it a little clearer)

Oh ok! I see what you're saying x) It might be like a challenge idea, where a person could draw another member in a representation, and then we could put all the pictures into a collage at the end?

Yeah like that, and then one person could color it all and put all the pictures together, and then that could be the club's picture.

I don't know if this sounds crazy but how about a number game. Each member chooses a number from 1- 10 (it could be 1-15). Anyway, the number will represent a random color. The person then has to draw according to the color given. For example, in blue, most of the painting/drawing will be in different shades of blue. It's like when you google images and click blue wallpaper, or red, yellow. (you know what I mean)
The manga/anime lovers can make the anime wallpaper of the color their given. People who love to draw fantasy creatures can do so too. landscapes, even portraits can be done in different shades of the same color.
(the members can use other colors too but most of the drawing should be in the color assigned to them.)
It's not too complicated... is it?
