Why is Atheism considered a religion?

    Personally, I believe the definition of an Atheist to be "one without religion", so why is it suddenly considered a religion?
    Religion is a set of beliefs, that usually conforms to the idea of a single or many deities creating the universe and man.
    Atheists believe no such thing; so why is it a religion?
