Old Man Jenkins was home alone one stormy night. He felt tired, so he turned off his light and went to bed. The next morning, twenty people were found dead. Why?

We haven't posted a riddle in a while because of this: It's not easy to find or create a good riddle that isn't already answered online, and we don't think it's fair for people to just search up the answer without trying, and win. So we are just trying to make up a good, hard, original riddle so that everyone has a equal opportunity.
