YWS Poetry Workshops:
No experience necessary!
It does not matter if you have never read or written a poem before, this workshop will be fine for you! At the same token, if you think you are a bit of a whiz at the poetry, come right on in, you will find this just as interesting.
The workshops will run once a month, for 1-2 hours. I will be hosting them at the moment. Other members of the Poetry Crew and Moderators may step in from time to time as a favour.
There are only eight places per workshop, so you will have to sign up quickly.
The workshops will take a poem (A YWS original) apart in sections, and then you will be invited to write your own poem. Emphasis will be placed on reading poetry and extracting meaning from what you read.
You will be free to leave and enter at will.
If you do not get into a workshop, do not worry too much! I will be running individual one-on-one (or two/three) workshops.
I am flexible with how these will be run. Tell me what you would like to see, and I will try and work it in. We will be using YWS poetry as our deconstructed texts.
