  1. Theme: Silent

I stared down at the girl as she trembled at my feet, then back up to the man with his gun aimed at her. I fingered the rapier at my side. If so much as cocked the gun I'd slice him up so badly they'd never be able to identify him.

"Now sir, I suggest you leave the young lady alone. I'm sure what ever she's done doesn't deserve the death penalty." I cooed.

I gripped the hilt of my sword, making sure he could see it. His eyes narrowed with pure malice as he gripped the gun harder. With his free hand, he tilted his hat up and glared at me with those beady black eyes. The moon just added to the effect, it felt like something from the dramatic theatre.

"Silence, 'yer comin' with me and we're gunna get your brother to give me that money." his eyes settled back down on the girl.

Another whimper escaped her bruised lips. For the first time since she had ran into me, I noticed her bruises and cuts. Her pretty little face was all purple, as was her arms. Blood had crusted over a cut on her cheek and around her nostral. It made my stomach twist. The things he could have done to her. I shuddered and pulled the rapier from my seath.

"I'm guessing you don't know who I am." I scowled at him with venom on my lips.

"Some vilanti' tryin' to be the hero again when he ain't wanted. I need my hostage back, ya piece of shit." he spat again.

"I am Carter Diagilo, son of Paulo Diagilo. I am trained in fencing, and hand at hand combat and I just so happen to know the most lethal blows. I suggest you back down and allow this young lady to leave with me."

His eyes went wide at the mention of my father. I felt my lips twitch, and threaten a smile. The girl's demeanor didn't change, quite the shock. Everyone knew of my father and his... reputation. I hardly ever needed to bring up my swordsmen training after his name.

The gun dropped to the ground, and the man took off into the darkness. I felt the girl relax slightly, and release her grip from my trousers. My gaze flickered from the man receding into the darkness and down to the girl in the pink dress. She buried her face in her hands and sobbed openly. I slowly knelt down to her level and placed a hand on her back.

"It's alright now, sweet heart. He's gone. Can you tell me your name?"

She shook her head and looked up to me. Her eyes were so gray... so soulless.

"And why not?" I asked, cocking a brow.

She pointed to her throat, and it took me a moment to register what she meant.

    "You're a mute?"

    She nodded.

"Well then, mind if I call you Silence?"

She shook her head and forced a smile.

"Alright then Silence, stick with me and we'll find this brother of yours."

I stood up and held my hand out to the small, frail girl. She took it gingerly and stood. Her knees nearly buckled, so I wrapped my arm around her waist to support her. We walked out of the ally and into the streets of Venis. She wasn't much for conversation, but she may be the friend I have been looking for.
  2. Theme: Questioning

[WHOO! Ke$ha genre-type song time! ... I felt like such a slut writing this xD]

    These questions
They're always spinning in my head
I never know if I should
    Let them go
    Cause these questions
They're always spinning in my head
I just want you to know

You love me and you hate me
but Baby I just want you to know
That I love you and I need you
    Never ever let me go.
Just stop asking questions and roll.

I sometimes wonder if you know
how far I would go to show you
My love, my love, my love
And how much I would do
To get you Drunk drunk drunk
    Love Drunk

You love me and you hate me
but Baby I just want you to know
That I love you and I need you
    Never ever let me go.
Just stop asking questions and roll.

I can't think straight any more
As my brain fogs up some more
    These questions in my head
    Will this day ever end

    You know what I mean

You love me and you hate me
but Baby I just want you to know
That I love you and I need you
    Never ever let me go.
Just stop asking questions and roll.

    Just roll with it.
  3. Theme: Blood

    [Warning, Cannibalism]

I slinked back into the darkness of my cave, yet the voices grew louder. They bounced off the walls and mocked me with their presence. I could feel my pulse increasing at a rapid rate as I placed my hand down on the damp stone. My stomach growled angrily, and I fought to keep it quiet. The light from the intruders' torch grew brighter still.

I whimpered quietly and buried my face in my knees when they spotted me. I had to control myself, I couldn't give in to the urge. I was better than that. In the back of my mind I was asking why of all the caves in the world people had to find this specific cave so interesting. I felt a hand on my shoulder and tensed up.

I began breathing through my mouth as I gazed up to meet two deep blue eyes. Definitely not a people of the nearest town, in fact I wonder if they were of the human race at all. They have beautiful - almost glowing - pale skin and long, pointed ears. They were... beautiful. I noted the two men behind the girl, and studied them closely. I was trying to keep my mind off of the smell.

They spoke in a foreign tounge, one I was not familiar with in the least. She still had that caring, worried tone. The one they all had when they found a 'defenceless' little girl hiding - or lose in a cave.

"I-I only speak English." I whispered hoarsely.

My throat burned with the urge. The intense want. My concious fought vigourously to beat my inner demons. While my concious screamed don't, my demons screamed yes. My demons could not win. Not this time.

"I spek a leetle English!" she chimed, almost as if she was happy to finally use her skill, "Are you lost leetle girl? Sick? Do you need halp?"

I blinked and thought for a moment. Help, yes. Sick, yes. Lost, most definitely not. I shook my head and let my head rest against my knees once again. I felt a pair of hands lift me off of the ground, and I inhaled sharply.

What after that happened so fast I barely recall it.

I twisted my body and dug my teeth into his flesh. The warm liquids seeped into my mouth, making me feel a famililar bliss that I missed so much. He sank to the ground, eyes rolling back in his head. His comrads screamed and darted for the exit, but I was faster. I was onto them like a dog onto a bone.

When I was finished, I pushed the bodies away from myself and crawled onto my make-shift, straw bed that I had made for myself the day I was chased from the villiage. The day I was marked a Blood Lust. Soft sobs shook me to sleep as I remembered the last words to escape the man's lips. No matter the language it was always the same scream of fear.

    "It's a Blood Lust."
  4. Theme: Rainbow

[I am not really happy with this >_> and is it just me... or is he staring at her boobs? Geez man you're supposed to be coming out of the closet.]

    [Edit: I can't draw boobies.]
  5. Theme: Gray

Darren looked out at his wife, who was working hard in her garden and shook his head. He couldn't grasp why she bothered to even try and make the place look nice anymore. Everyone else had given up a long time ago, just a look around the neighborhood could tell you that.

The front lawns were barren, plants refused to grow, and any paint that may have been on the walls before had chipped or faded away by now. He shook his head and soaked another dish into the sink, letting the suds wash away the grim on the plate. His wife wipped her brow with the back of her arm.

"It's a hot one today. Ain't it, Darren?" she asked as she looked up to him with squinting eyes.

He looked up at the sky, which was clear for the first time in months. At least it must have been, it was hard to tell anymore. He dropped the plate into the sink, letting the water splash up onto the counter. Diana just watched and waited, her expression indifferent to his behavior.

"Of course it's hot out, but you insist on working in that stupid garden. Don't you know when to give up? Everyone else did a long time ago!" He finished his rant by slamming his fists down on the table.

Diana stood up and brushed the dirt off of her gardening apron. Various tools were strewn about the flower bed, from her long day's work. He gritted his teeth and tightened his fist around the drying rag. The birds chirped their sweet melody, but the couple remained quiet.

"I'm sorry, Diana. I shouldn't have exploded on you like that. It's just... upsetting to see you wasting all your time in that flower bed to bring beauty to a world that lost it a long time ago."

She narrowed her eyes, "Wasting my time, am I? My God Darren, have you lost your faith already? You just need to believe. C'mon out here." she motioned for him to obey.

"Diana, what's the point in having faith anymore? It's been thirty blasted years!" he insisted with a slight fury in his words.

"Just c'mon out here will ya?"

He shook his head and dried his hands off on the old rag. He would humor her this last time, with his luck she just wanted some more help in her garden while she lectured him on giving everything the time it needs to fix itself.

He laced up his boots; gripped the door handel; and waited a moment before stepping outside. She patted the grass by her side and waited for him to kneel beside him. He gazed down at the little garden and looked twice for a moment. He could have sword he saw... something. She giggled and moved an over grown fern off to the side.

    He gasped.

A small flower sat there, but it wasn't like the other flowers. The soft petals were bright red, and the thin stem was a deeper green then the bright leaves that soaked up the sun.

"Do you see what I mean now?"

He nodded and smiled, maybe the whole world wasn't that gray.

  7. Theme: Vacation

The sun beat down on the water, giving it a beautiful sparkle. The passengers on board were all laughing and dancing with such gayness it wasn't even imaginable. People were never meant to be this happy, it seemed almost angelic. Especially Mary.

Oh my Mary, the one I had given the tickets to come with me on this cruise. As a birthday present. She was estatic when she opened the envelope and retrieved the two tickerts from inside. Appearantly I made a good decision. She had been wanting to go on this cruise since she first saw the advertisments for it. 'A Carribian night beneath the stars.' A little wordy, but promising all the same.

She looked out at the moon and smiled. The fact the moon was full just added to the moment. It bounced off her golden locks and gave her a glowing appeal. I let out a quiet sigh and fingered the box in my pocket.

I approached her and leaned against the railing that prevented us from falling off the dock in a drunken spasm. She smiled at me and looked back up at the moon.

"Without a wish, without a will. I stood upon that silent hill. I stared into the sky. My eyes were blind with stars and still, I stared into the sky." She whispered quietly as she rung her hands.

"It's beautiful," I mumbled, "Do you know who wrote it?"

She shook her head, "No, it was the poem Skylar told me on our first date. I haven't seen the stars so bright since."

Her hand wandered up to the locket around her neck. My heart fell slightly, as I thought of Skylar. He had been my best friend. The sound of bombs exploding and people screaming in pure agony rang in the back of my head for a moment, making me lose my grip on reality. I missed him.

"Well, he has good taste in poetry... and women." I whispered as I pulled her closer.

She giggled, but it wasn't a very... happy giggle. It sounded choked, and forced. I felt my brow furrow and gave her shoulder a quick squeeze. My chance was slipping second by second, and I had to do it now if I wanted to ask her tonight.

"Mary. There's something I've wanted to do... something I've wanted to do for a while."

I took a deep breath Time to be cheesy. I told myself as I knelt onto my knee and looked up into those longing and teary eyes. She knew what was coming, and her face lite up like the moon itself, and not just a reflection of it.

    "Will you marry me?"

    She let out a small gasp and nodded her head vigorously. Passerbys clapped and whistled for us, making me smile like a high school boy who had just gotten laid for the first time. I slipped the ring over her finger and hugged her close. I looked up to the sky and mouthed the words;

"I'll take care of her, Skylar."

  10. Theme: Dying

[OH MY GOD NIELS FANFIC *SQUEE* I mean... *cough*]

A cold wind blew through the warehouse as Niels fingered the trigger on his gun. Any moment now Duncan would return and Niels could finish this hit. A thump behind him alerted him to the fact his prisoner was still trying to escape. He turned around to see the young blond woman tipped over in her seat, still bound tightly.

“Miss Reynolds, I don’t think trying to escape is a good idea at this point. I wouldn’t worry about it at this point, it’s going to be painless.” he purred as he set her chair back up and gave her cheek a quick caress with the gun.

“Fuck you.” she sputtered with pure spite as she continued to struggle to break free. Niels shook his head and sighed.

“Listen, you were a good person, you never hurt anyone. You paid your taxes, you behaved. I’m sure you’ll go to heaven. Unfortunately you were in the wrong place at the wrong time.”

She let her head hang and let a few quiet sobs out, finally submitting to her fate. Naturally, Niels didn’t feel a hint of compassion for her. Time slowly drifted by, as if it was purposefully being dragged on just to make the boredom endless.

“Ah, Mr. Gyldensted. it’s been a while. I see you’ve had a chance to get close to Debbie.” chimed a new voice to the mix. One that Niels was very familiar with.

A quiet plead came from the girl, only to be interrupted by her capture, “Agent 300, indeed it has and indeed I have! To what do I owe the pleasure of your visit?” requested Niels with a sly smile. Of course he knew what he wanted, nobody was that dumb.

“Well, isn’t it obvious? I came for our little friend Debbie here. She happens to work at the coffee shop I like to order from and I can’t just have you kill my favorite bartista.” he said assertively.

Debbie’s brow furrowed, then raised in surprise. Sometimes there was more to people than you thought. She opened her mouth to speak, but was cut off once again.

    “Well, if I don’t kill her I don’t get paid, 300. Where’s Duncan?”

“He’s outside with 250.” The agent replied as he gestured back at the door.

“Ah, I see. Well then, I suppose this is the part where we dance?”

“Flattered, Mr. Glydensted, but I do not wish to dance wi-”

    “I mean, fight. Agent 300.”

    “Ah, right”
Debbie continued to try and fight her way out of her binds and the two men tussled. Agent 300 was soon put in a headlock and handcuffed to Debbie’s chair. She finally felt the ropes loosen enough for her to make an escape. She brought her leg up and sharply kicked Niels in the face, both making him fall over and lose grasp of his gun.

Agent 300 was surely impressed, but that was the least of Debbie’s problems at the moment. All she needed was to get out of there. Niels stretched for his gun and swiftly pulled it around, then pulled the trigger.

She dropped to the ground, motionless. Niels’ breath was heavy and ragged as he wiped his lips with the back of his arm. Agent 300 stared, now sorely unimpressed.

“Well, at least your aim is improving.”

    “Indeed, 300.”
