I need a plot bunny

9 posts in this topic.

  1. I need a new plot bunny. I entered a contest and I have to write a story about a future dystopia. I know what it is, but I need a plot bunny to help me in my writing! Any ideas of where I can get one?
  2. Hm... From what I can make of the word dystopia... you could do a Prince and the Pauper kinda thing. Where one in power meets someone in a postion of squalor that looks eerily similar to him/her and, for whatever reason, thinking that life is better, they switch places.

I don't know. I was trying to stay away from poor kid overthrows mean government. Maybe it will work?
  3. Hmmmmmmm.......... eh.... Maybe........ Future dystopias are strange things....
  4. Yeah. I wasn't sure about it, but I thought I'd give you something.
  5. Yeah. Thanks.
  6. Stupid me had to go look up what future dystopia was.

Oh! most of the population is brain controlled via mind control chips, the high, rich people with remotes use these people as slaves. A couple of years of this someone in a freak accident breaks away from their control, and start a revolution, one person at a time since he's gotten the ability that with one touch of the chip shorts out.

If you still need something. Megsug sounds good as well.
  7. Don't feel bad Wolfdancer. I had to look up dystopia, and I think you understood the definition better than I did.
  8. Thanks, I can see that working, but actually, when you think about it, there's a lot of stories about mind-control and stuff like that. I think I might have something, but you guys need to tell me how it sounds.
So, there is this utopia. Eventually, a stranger wanders in and looks around, and he comes to the conclusion that these people are mad. The government is whittling them off of certain resources saying that less of it is a good thing. Eventually, when they had done this enough, the whole population would die off. So, he tells some of the lower people, and they get together a secret organization to thwart the government.
On the other side of the story, there's a rich kid. Her parents are high ranking in the government and she can actually make an affect. She ends up getting kidnapped because she ends up knowing too much about the operation. Then, they try to get her to see their side. They show her what exactly is going on, and eventually they defeat the government and overthrow the ruler. The outsider leaves, saying that he'll need to come back in a few years and do it again.
  9. sounds good, but the stranger walking in and stating everyone is mad is a little wierd. does he scream it out or has found a nice person that was showing him around? Will it consentrate more on the stranger, or the goverment side of it?

Brain control is a little over used... maybe because it's to easy to write about.

No, it's not that you didn't succeed. You accomplished a lot, but, if you want to touch people, don't concentrate so much on rhyme and metre. Think more about what you want to say instead of how you're saying it.
