The odds have answered your pleas! If you have already registered for an arena, then you can still submit your book reviews until May 31. Repeat, to those who have already confirmed registration, you can still submit up until May 31, which is Friday. That is all.
It's been 75 years now since the Dark Days, or, the war lost by the YWSers. Now, under the harsh rule of the Capitol, YWSers from different sectors are being called to join a morbid and brutal reading competition. Yes, you are being called to read a book and write a good book review about it as part of the first annual
Reader Games!
Reader Games!
Enlistment
The task is simple: write a book review about any published book you have read for at least the last six months. If you have the guts to read, or wanna boast that you can read and understand the mystery of books, then volunteer to join. First, choose an arena to fight in:
Spoiler! :
After choosing one to join in, choose a book that you will read or have read for the past six months that corresponds with the arena, and write a book review about it. The book review requires no format, and as long as it contains a short summary of what you've read, and an analysis about the aspects of the book, like the plot, themes and motifs, it will be considered for judging. The review must also follow the YWS Rules and Regulations, be properly opinionated and open-minded.
Post your book reviews at the Media Reviews and post the link in this topic together with the book's title, author and the arena you've chosen. The deadline of submission is May 27, and judging will take place after that. You can submit up to two reviews. If your review has enough wit and creativity, it might have a chance to survive.
Survival
The first wave of judging will be per arena. A few days after May 27, we will announce the lucky survivors. Only one out of each arena of course. Out of those survivors, a special panel of judges composing of the President, Alfred Heavensbee, Rosey Trinket and Gee Mason will choose the best book review to crown winner. Its author will be the victor of the first Reader Games.
Spoils
Spoiler! :
So, if you have the wits to uncover the secrets of a book (or at least, understand it), or if you're just a true book lover, join the competition with a book review, survive it and forever be celebrated as an official YWS Honorable Reader.
Let the games begin!
