SAW (Story A Week) is a challenge wherein you write one short story a week for 52 weeks! It's currently been ongoing since March 5th, but we're always looking for new competitors. You can join at any time!
You don't have to be Stephen King or Patrick Rothfuss in order to participate, so don't worry about the quality of your current writing. Really, all you have to do is be willing to write short stories! Betterment comes with practice.
In addition, don't worry about not having enough ideas for the contest! We have a prompts and challenges thread, meaning that there are fresh ideas to introduce yourself to every week. Besides, there's always the archive of previous prompts that you can browse through.
The rules are under the spoiler, but they're pretty simple. Really, all you need to do is write a minimum of 1k a week. That's only 142.8571 words a day! But seriously, the only way to get better is consistent practice, and consistent practice is better when you’re being cheered on by your peers.
Spoiler! :
There's even a buddy system built into the contest! If you want to review the works of competitors and not be in the competition, then you can be a Guide! If you want to review works and participate in the competition, then you can be an Ally! More info here!
If you're interested in joining, then feel free to comment that you're signing up here! Then, head over to this link to sign up in the club's official thread. If you have any questions about anything, then feel free to tag me or @Lareine and we'll quickly help you out.
So, does the challenge sound interesting? Remember, it's never too late to join!
