John-Harry | "The Twins" | Midas' house
John had never meant to do such an evil thing as ruin Christmas. It had been his stupid, wannabe criminal mastermind twin who had had those ideas. John had never been involved in crime before. That was until his body had fused with the thief in an unfortunate accident with John's time machine. It had been about two years since the Twins had fused together, but they were younger than they should be, because they kept traveling through time and space. They had both decided to stay where they were currently, at that time period, since it didn't necessarily bother any of them.
John snapped back to the present. It was no time to dream. There was a lot of action going on in that house. He had seen a group of armed men go in. He had then moved to a place where he was hidden in the shadows but could still see through a crack in the garage door, which was ajar. He saw a lot of commotion coming from the garage, and he saw two men fighting. One fell on top of the other and seemed to stay there, as if something heavy didn't let him get up. Then he heard the men talk.
"We caught this guy skulking about outside with some kind of strange device," one of them said.
Then the one on the floor answered, "That wasn't me! Well, it was, but you don't understand-"
The other men payed him no heed. They got him and cuffed him, seemingly not believing him. But John knew that even if they did not believe him fully, they would still go out to check who the man with the strange device had been. And that man was John.
The armed men took a heavy-looking jacket off from the burglar and started to escort him outside. John watched as the burglar and the house's owner looked at each other and exchanged a silent dialogue. There was going to be some more fighting, John was sure of it. But he couldn't just stay and stare. He would get caught eventually. So there was only one choice left.
John had never imagined a situation like that would come to his hands, but he knew what he had to do. In order not to be caught, he had to side with the bad guys.
But I can't just fight the armed men bare-handed, he thought, I must use my brain. Think.
His eyes went down to his remote controller. The lights in the building were already off, so he couldn't do much with that. An idea crept into his mind. There seemed to be a lot of machinery around the garage. Without knowing what would really happen or whether his plan would work, John's hands started automatically tinkering with the machine. It only took him a few seconds. He examined the remote in his hands quickly, and sighed.
I must be going crazy. He pressed a button on the remote.
Immediately, every single electronic device in the garage turned on. Fortunately for the distraction's sake, those devices included the cars. All five sports cars roared to life. The lights in the garage turned on. The house's alarm started wailing. All five horns from the cars blared in unison.
Maybe it wasn't true that John was evil. Maybe his fusion with Harry Smith was affecting him more than he thought. Unwillingly, unconsciously, a smile crept to his lips. He didn't like the chaos he had just created. He exulted in it.
