I'm proud to announce today YWS: Buran; the exciting sequel to YWS: Apollo! Once Boran is completed, the Young Writers Society will be split into 4 websites. These websites will be: Clubs, Forums, Literary, and Storybooks. Blogs will be dropped off, and each website will have its own People tab. Your current YWS account will work across all four websites, although future members will need to sign up with each individually.

This is an exciting shift for YWS, and one that will allow us to focus on each of the four main parts of YWS. However, I know that some people will be saddened by this change, and perhaps upset as well. But please do not fret! With YWS: Buran, the site will be able to grow and prosper due to vague, unexplained reasons.

It is also quite possible in the future that YWS: Buran will go even further. Specific sites for poetry, short stories, general discussion forums, welcome forums, writing circles, etc., would allow YWS to spread even further. But, one step at a time!

Since Clubs, Forums, Literary, and Storybooks, will each become their own website, they'll be getting different names as well. Yes, this means that from now on, YWS refers to the organization rather than the website.

Respectively, the new websites will be:
CommunityClubsforYoungWriters.com
ForumsThatAreForYoungWriters.com
YoungWritersBookshelf.com
StorybooksAlsoKnownAsRPGforYoungWritersAcrossTheGlobe.com

Exciting times!

This sounds amazing, but I think you could take it a step further with individual sites for each genre, too - romanticywsstories.com, scifiywsstories.com, ywslyricpoetry.com and so on.This is right up there with your idea to publish a YWS forum book, which I still think is excellent and look forward to reading!
Matt.

I can't wait, Nate! I have one teeny tiny concern though- will spaces be available for usernames on the new websites?

Sorry, but no. Not because it won't be technically feasible, but rather because I find spaces to be aesthetically unpleasing.

In fact, my research has found that most people consider consonants to be aesthetically unpleasing as well. Thus, usernames on the new sites can consist solely of vowels. Of course, all current usernames will carry forward. This change only applies to new members.

I'm slightly suspicious...
You're new? Great seas! Why haven't you gone to the Buddy System yet?

You're dealing with writers. The words "normal" and "usual occurrence" do not compute.

The most important thing is to preserve the world we live in. Unless people understand and learn about our world, habitats, and animals, they won't understand that if we don't protect those habitats, we'll eventually destroy ourselves.
