Un Happy Birthday of Your Favorite Plaything

by KateHardy

Text:

Dreams.
Oh?
What dreams?
The ones you forced me to accept as mine?
When they were just yours.

Possibilities.
You mean my future?
You know.
The one you crushed.

Proud.
No.
You are glad to own a doll.
One you can customize as you please.
After all I am yours aren't I?
To do with as you please.
When was it you said that?
Yesterday?

Mom and Dad.
Its truly a pleasure that.
You brought me to this world.
But maybe.
A mother and father.
Would have given me a life.

Wow, this is an amazing poem written by the author.

"You are glad to own a doll.
One you can customize as you please.
After all I am yours aren't I?
To do with as you please.
When was it you said that?
Yesterday?"
It explains how dominating parents can be sometimes. They want their child to be the best, they want their kids to outshine in everything their kids do but they forget that it makes the child feel like he/she is just a puppet to them.

"Mom and Dad.
Its truly a pleasure that.
You brought me to this world.
But maybe.
A mother and father.
Would have given me a life."
This line 'We brought you in this world, because of us you are here' is something that I always used to hear from my parents whenever we had an argument.

This poem is totally relatable.
Thank you for conveying every kid's feeling into words.

Keep it up.
Waiting for more.
Thank you.

Hi names 22Midnight
hope your doing well, let's get into it!

First Impression from the title i was thinking this would be about a gift that you got from your parents that you did love because it was one they where forcing you to have because it had some sort of agenda behind it.

Dreams.
Oh?
What dreams?
The ones you forced me to accept as mine?
When they were just yours.

this really captivates how much the speaker has been hurt and forced to do things that where never of there own decision.
Possibilities.
You mean my future?
You know.
The one you crushed.

this really hit me hard, to know that they have nothing to look forward to because it's been taken away from them.
Proud.
No.
You are glad to own a doll.
One you can customize as you please.
After all I am yours aren't I?
To do with as you please.
When was it you said that?
Yesterday?

Ouch this really hit home because I feel like my mom looks at me this way, just wants me to be perfect and do whatever she wants me to without making any mistakes and the second I make a mistake I'm a disappointment.
Mom and Dad.
Its truly a pleasure that.
You brought me to this world.
But maybe.
A mother and father.
Would have given me a life.

some parents shouldn't be parents because they don't deserve a child so special, but all children need parents.

Overall this was a very depressing poem that was written very well, and it got me crying in the end because I feel sorry for the speaker of this poem. Which brings me to ask are you okay? do you need someone to talk to because if so I'm always here? <3<3

anyway that's it from me

hope you have a great dawn/dusk/midnight

See Ya
