I tend to write Dark, but I foray into sci-fi occasionally. My one rule: no romance, ever, unless it is absolutely necessary to further a plot. And then I usually try to corrupt it as much as possible.
when i go through an incident that draws some inspiration...i sit down later reflect on it...when i sit down to write its a combination of narrative, what i make of the whole thing and some humor but its all mostly true...i call it reflection but i don't know how accurate that is.
Gosh I love the 'shopaholic' series! That aside, I would definitely write most in 'romance'. Not because I'm a mushy teenager with nothing better to do, but because it's interesting to write about. All the emotions and that sort of thing
Fantasy's alright too. I'll admit to being a massive Harry Potter fan, though I'd never go into that childish area, nor have the pure genius to think up a seven-book long plot.
Fantasy: Wizards and witches are my favorite. I also like both reading and writing adventure stories.
Historical: I like to write stories about how things came to be in a very magical way.
Romance: Not the sweet kind of thing but the ones that tell about longing and desperateness.
Dark: I simply love horror stories!
Sci-fi: Just for a fact, Sci-fi doesn't only concern technology and Outer Space but also magical worlds. We can consider some Sci-fi to be fantasy too.

something I have been thinking about ever since I saw the Super Mario Bros movie is how once I took a "what Nintendo character are you" quiz and I got Waluigi. — Elinor
