@Snoink, thanks for the explanation. I remember the 2000 election (we had to color in states as the totals came in...Florida was definitely purple), but not that well apparently.
I did write a rousing political anthem about it though (I was sick in bed Thanksgiving weekend and apparently too lazy to change the channel) which I now think needs an update
