Well, In my book, the main characters mother suffers a heart attack. The family then calls the doctor in. I'm a little confused about what the doctor should say, "oh she had a heart attack" or "oh she had an internal thing we cannot explain," or something. I want to know if anyone could help me, because all I found when i looked up heart attacks is their symptoms and how to prevent them...

It would help if you told us what time period your story takes place in.

It takes place in the early 18th century. 1716, to be exact. I posted that in the title. It was probably cut off, I don't know why.

Stupid of me for not seeing that.

In that case, they did know about heart attacks. They didn't call them heart attacks, though. A weak heart is how they referred to it, and if the person died, they would say something along the lines of "X's heart gave out" or something similar.

When your heart gets pierced with arrows, don't rip them out and pierce those around you in retribution for your hurt. You'll only unnecessarily wound others and bleed to death yourself.
