Ok, i'm on our speech team at school. I was wondering if anyone knows of a good prose piece that I could possibly look at for next year?
Do you ever just want to run away, just to see who comes after you?

Prose? You mean in general or just speeches.

If you want general prose for a stimulus, try Atonement by Ian McEwan. It's an excellent novel. Or, for speeches, I suggest The perils of indifference by Elie Wiesel. That's powerful stuff.
"Don't bother just to be better than your contemporaries or predecessors. Try to be better than yourself." William Faulkner.

You unlock this door with the key of imagination. Beyond it is another dimension: a dimension of sound, a dimension of sight, a dimension of mind. You’re moving into a land of both shadow and substance, of things and ideas. You’ve just crossed over into… the Twilight Zone.
