Hamilton stuffed another bit of bread into his mouth (because dark buildings also made him nervous), but just as he’d finished chewing it, he froze. He sniffed the air. “Is there someone else there?” There was a slight scent of furry animal— sheep? goat?— in the air.
"There's someone else?" Seta's eyes widened. If there was someone sneaking along behind them without announcing their presence it couldn't possibly be a good thing.

she quickly looked towards one of the windows since she could at least sense movement in the dark and walked towards it, squinting "it seems there is someone else and it seems our little goat friend is coming this way"
Zenith lay ducked behind the rock, watching the house cautiously. He thought he saw movement earlier but he couldn't be sure. He should still exercise caution though. In his mind he tried to figure out a plan. Maybe he could create a diversion of some sort? No it was too risky. He would be announcing his presence to the unknown inhabitants of the house. That was assuming they hadn't already noticed him which was highly unlikely, he had been reckless earlier. Then again maybe they weren't humans? If they were half-creatures like himself he could probably at least try and talk with them and get away. They were in the middle of nowhere after all. Hardly any humans came out this far into the woods and those who did definitely don't live here. No, it was still too risky. He should try and see the inhabitants first. Sighing he began to sneak toward the windows, hoping he was being stealthy enough to evade being spotted.
"You see a goat coming?" Hamilton wondered if that meant humans were around. Humans herded animals like goats, right? "Does that mean a human will be looking for their animal, then?" His eyes flicked nervously around the room, searching for possible exits or places to mount a defense from.
Zenith could definitely hear the inhabitants now, he couldn't make out entirely what they were saying but he could make out 3 distinct voices. Two of them sounded nervous, and one was definitely a lot calmer. As he got closer he saw a figure by the window, whoever it was definitely saw him. A good sign. They hadn't tried to kill him yet. He strode confidently to the door, confidence was key. It established him as neither an easy target nor a threat. The figure by the window had probably already seen him approaching, despite that he still decided to knock as politely as he could on the door.
she stood up straight and walked over to the door, putting hand on the knob, mask still covering half her face "i see you finally decided to visit, come on in, let us introduce ourselves" she moved out of the way from in front of the door and let him in
Eli’s tongue flicked out again as her tail twisted underneath her blanket. “My. It’s been awhile since I’ve been with so many hybrids before.”

Zenith smiled politely at the half crow, while doing a quick scan of the room. There were several half-humans, just as he suspected. "No need for the formalities, I'm not here to stay. My name is Officer Raymond Turner I'm actually apart of a new branch within the local police department, an outreach program in an attempt to...control the current disputes between the half-humans and the regular humans. I was dispatched to this location on reports of suspicious activity. Would any of you happen to know anything?" This was a lie of course, but Zenith figured this would be the fastest means of getting out of the situation. It was for the most part believable, half-humans were hated by humans and so it while unlikely it wasn't impossible for someone somewhere along the chain of power to try and settle down these disputes. Besides, most of these half-humans definitely appeared to be from the younger generations, the ones after the war and most young half-humans wanted to restore peace, so they would believe anything that could speed the process up much easier. Psychologically speaking Zenith figured that if they wanted it to be true it would become true to them. At least hopefully it should work.
she closed her eyes and sighed "no need to lie, if you have questions, just ask, humans dislike half-humans, they wouldn't give them a job as a detective, ask away, we'll answer, no need to act like your from the police department, what is it you wanna know?" she crossed her arms and opened her eyes to look at zenith
Seta was confused. After getting over the chance that something dangerous was about to stalk them now this whole confusing with detectives and fake detectives was too much for xer.
"Wait what?"
