The question is, what do you put in your NaNo survival kit? That is, what supplies do you find essential to the NaNo writing (and sometimes just writing period) experience? I'm curious about the YWS NaNoers here.

My list:

~ NaNoWriMo.org
~No Plot? No Problem! by Chris Baty
~ YoungWritersSociety.com (Ya'll saw that coming, dinncha?)
~ computer (I'm still waiting to get a laptop, but maybe that will have changed by Nov.)
~ USB flash drives
~ my iPod/Pandora.com/Amazon.com/cds/etc. (In other words: music.)
~ Write or Die
~ my writing journal
~ a thick binder (I fills it with my handwritten bits, notes, and hard copies, my precious. Yesss, yess..)
~ blank paper (Lined and unlined.)
~ pens (Good pens.)
~ water bottle (I want an official NaNo tea, but I don't like tea. I just like the idea.)
~ dictionary and thesaurus
~ my fingerless gloves
~ calendar (To keep track of daily word count and to remind me of particular dates.)
~ snacks (I'm partial to pretzels and cold turkey after Thanksgiving, but I'm also asking for suggestions.)
~ inspirational materials (The things that inspired me to do this year's NaNo, as well as any books, movies, etc. that strike my muse over the month.)

Yeah, those be my necessities. There might be more that pop up as the month progresses. We'll see.
I am reminded of the babe by you.

Lily’s List (which is so so so much cooler then Gryph’s and deserves, like, universal recognition ;) )
~ NaNoWriMo.org (well duh, its NaNo)
~ YoungWritersSociety.com (I don’t plan on abandoning my Instructorly duties or my favorite writers in the whole wide world. Hahah, I said duty.)
~Notebook (I don’t so much write in my notebook as I do take notes and such on my characters in it. That way I’ll always have something with when inspiration strikes.)
~ My inspiration sweatshirt. (I’ve worn the same sweatshirt every time I’ve written some of my best ideas.)
~Far more then the legal limit of Mellow Yellow. (that stuff is my NaNo savior.)
~My whiteboard calendar that I keep on the wall at the foot of my bed in order to be a constant reminder when I wake up and go to bed.
~My desk. (Most of the time, I just write in bed, but during November, clean of the desk and move in for a month.)
~Head phones. (Playlist.com is a wonderful website and I’ve had the same playlist for NaNo every year that I’ve partaken.)
~Slippers. (For some weird reason, I love doing NaNo with slippers on. It makes me feel all fuzzy inside.)
~Deviantart.com (Whenever I’m in need of a little extra inspiration, I just head on over to Deviant and I look around at the more recent art submissions.)

Now see, isn’t my list so much cooler then Gryph’s with his fingerless gloves and his health conscious ‘water.’

Much love and I hope everyone is enjoying the NaNo prep month.

Never forget who you are, for surely the world will not. Make it your strength. Then it can never be your weakness. Armor yourself in it, and it will never be used to hurt you.

Here is Bolt's list

-Nice fluffy blankets and pillows

-Mini note pads and mechanical pencils

-Laptop (only a few days till I get it)

-Billions of USB drives, and something to keep them all on

-Fully charged Ipod with writing song play-lists

-No food anywhere (if I get food while I write I will just nibble at it to procrastinate)

-friends to help me kill HW in School

-Gallons of water

-DvDs of shows meant to twist my mind and help me grow ideas

-Printed outline with in depth chapter details

-all apps of my touch

-A hand dictionary and thesaurus

-An occasional Red Bull

And also, thinking of making my NaNoWriMo idea something to actually make good, and not rush. So I am now starting from scratch on a new idea I might use. Perfect for rush writing.

This is my first year of nanowrimo, so I'm not totally confident in this list, but we'll see.
Snacks within arm's reach (healthy and unhealthy)
My computer
usb drive
notebook (mine is filled with stuff I printed from the internet, character sketches, a flyer about a plumber named beau who lives in my neighboorhood, and all other nonsense.)
picture of the solar system (?)
green tea, earl grey, herbal tea, and peach iced tea
the internet (online dictionary, rhyming dictionary, word etymology sites and name generators)
NO PLOT OUTLINE (because the idea of having one would probably frighten me out of writing)
Itunes playlists and the movie Guys&Dolls
GIR slippers (because his bug-eyed face makes me smile)
smiling toad statue on my desk
no pillows or blankets around and a bed covered in books and papers (so I'm not tempted to take a six-hour nap)
I cannot drink energy drinks for whatever reason. They make me headache-y and give me heart palpitations.
So here's hoping this gets me through nanowrimo

Bold = I have it
Not bold = I still need it

Calendar
Internet Access/Computer (we'll be going to the mountains in November and staying for a couple months, where the only place you can find either of those items are at the library, with a limit of one hour per person per day that they're open.)
Sweatpants
Granola Bars

Fuzzy Coat, fuzzy socks, gloves, scarf, fluffy blankets... (Did I mention they were mountains?)
Notebooks
Journals
Scrapbook

Granola Bars
Maps
History texts
History essays from last quarter
(numbering approx. 230 pages, give or take)
Hot chocolate
Blueberry tea
Grimm's Complete Fairy Tales
Lots of pencils/erasers/pencil sharpeners
Club Sandwich makings
And last but not least, Granola Bars.

Rain would be nice too, but I don't think I'll need to worry about that. Rain or snow, guaranteed one or the other every day this time of year.

Well, haven't made one yet, but I'll put in what will be there. ;)

1. MS Word
2. Write or Die
3. A blanket (it gets cold).
4. A TV table so I can eat at the computer.
5. My zip-up hoodie. (again, it gets cold).
6. Halloween candy or an energy drink to keep me going into the wee hours of the morning.
7. Pandora radio so I don't have to trawl through my faves looking for a new song every five minutes.
8. Gloves. Same reason as the hoodie and blanket.
9. The YWS Storybook forum. (A distraction. ;))
10. AIM.
11. Snacks
12. Inkheart, Artemis Fowl, or Harry Potter.
13. Siblings. Even though they're annoying, they make me smile sometimes.
14. My mp3 player, in case Pandora gets boring.
15. My buddy TalaPaulwic. She'll crack the whip and get me typing if Write or Die doesn't do it.
16. World of Warcraft. Everyone needs a break.
17. Buggy. She may not crack the whip, but I'm pretty sure she'll help a lot if I happen to contract the deadly disease known as 'writer's block'.
18. My parents. They tend to give me good ideas.
19. A notepad to write down sudden ideas.

That's all I can think of at the moment. :)

Hmmm...

-sweet family computer (no =[ laptop)
-random sugary things (30 coke zeros? hah! I'd go through that in like a week)(halloween candy is good)
-odd Japanese anime on hulu. School Rumble!
-dictionary... not.
-no plot. absolutely no problem. plot outlines are overrated
-music, like Superchick or Hayley Westerna or All American Rejects
-pieces of happy*
-friends and demons (you know, the ones taht live in your head)
-gum. Lots and lots of GUM
-USB flash drive
-House of Night (series) books
-Orson Scott Card's "Writing Science Fiction and Fantasy" it's surprisingly interesting!

*Peices of happy are like simple pleasures, but just... better. Like walking in pouring down rain or a perfect bubble blown with gum or dreams of crushes that actually like you back or a frozen dark chocolate kiss or sitting alone and thinking in a silent, dark room. Or just laughing with you're friends until it hurts. =] That kind of thing, you know?

My list is rather... short. But I'm rather simple about stuff like writing. I just moved past writing in spirals. Go me.
