In his heart, he understood that there were new, rare breeds rising up. People who took what they learned from him and imbibed it into themselves, changing their bodies and lives forever. There was little he could do for them, little he could do to stop them. The problem was, they were unguided. Like arrows that nobody bothered to aim, they were simply flying around, dangerous, until they hit and killed something. Soon, someone would gather all of these volatile, changing people and direct them towards destruction or life. He couldn't risk what would happen if they became destructive. They would destroy the delicate balance of magic and cause the world to self-destruct. No one was left in the world with the heart to lead them to growth. So he did the only thing he could do. He made the games.

The next day a notice was put up announcing a game unlike any other. Hundreds would join and only one would win. Once you entered there was no turning back, you were in the middle of a huge battle for your life, and only the winner would be left standing. What you need is:

3. This is not an SB about violence and destruction. That was the old man's idea, but we're trying to prove him wrong and show him that there is actually some good in the world.

Name: Rayden Emanuel Thorn ( nicknames are; "Dead man walking", Ray, and his little sister called him Rayray)
Age: 26
Gender: Male

Appearance: Rayden is tall (6'5") with a lean yet muscular build. He has blondish brown hair that he keeps cropped short and he is usually clean shaven- yet with just the right amount of manly stubble. His eyes are blue with a striking green shot in them, he also has the kind of the smile that could make you weak in the knees.


Personality: Rayden is the white knight type to be sure, albeit a knight with a few dings in his armor. he has a bit of a hero complex- he needs to make it better. At the moment Rayden is quite depressed, due to personal loss and tragedy he is left feeling he has nothing to live for, and he has a whopping case of survivors guilt. He is sick of always being the last one standing while everything and everyone he loves dies or is taken away.

Before this he was the optimistic one who could always see the flip-side to any situation and was the shoulder everyone near him could use to cry one. He was the steady leader type who could keep a cool head in crisis and could react quickly to avoid disaster. He was the one who had a winning smile and infectious laugh...

Now he is merely a shell of his former self.

Skills/special abilities:

Rayden is a Fire Magician, he can: summon fire in all it's forms and color ranges, he can become engulfed in fire and not come to any harm (to a reasonable point- he has about the same fire proofing that a dragon does,) he can heat his physical bodies up to incredible temperatures (within reason- he doesn't want to cook his innards,) and he can breath fire- when he wants to really intimidate you. As a fire magician he has a certain spectrum of the fire range he prefers to use. In battle he uses blue fire and the almost invisible white fire. in everyday use (yes he does use his abilities for household things) he uses the normal reds, oranges, and yellows- he NEVER dabbles in black fire as it is a fallen form of the element.
Rayden has reached though the years the ability to fully summon his element and his element takes the form of a small
(large barn cat) sized griffin or that of a thin single edged sword. His element's manifestation is named Dante.


Flaws: Rayden is by no means perfect (as you could tell from his personality!) and his fire abilities are weak against water- if he gets wet- he can still use heat but he is unable to summon his fire. Probably his biggest flaw/weakness is that- well- Rayden is dying. When he was about fifteen he contracted Tuberculosis and now he is the very last stages of the disease. He often coughs blood, has trouble breathing-like asthma-, and tires VERY easily. Strenuous activity, drastic changes in temperature, or dust can spur a bloody coughing fit as well. He really shouldn't be in the games but he has a two fold reason for joining up. 1) he has a death wish. 2) he is half hoping that the old magic master can heal him.
Rayden isn't contagious to anyone else, the way in which his abilities manifest themselves keeps him from passing diseases on.

History: Rayden was born into a country shredded by civil unrest and warfare. His kind were feared by the non magical peoples and hunted down and slaughtered by the thousands. Rayden's own family- who were not magical but willing to risk everything to save him- was killed before his eyes when he was twelve. He wandered about until he was taken in by a holy order who's vows forced them to care for the unwanted of the world and they cared for many such an orphaned waif. when he was fourteen he left and joined a small pacifistic rebellion that was trying to smuggle Magicians out of the country. He trained with them until he was eighteen when he became a "Shepherd" or someone who smuggles magicians out and did that for five years. During this time he developed quite a reputation for himself and became something of a living legend- it was said he never lost a person he was shepherding and he never got caught- both of which aren't true, but almost. He also became the number one most wanted magician and had bounty hunters chasing him all over the country. Then suddenly the tides turned and the emperor of the country made exterminating the magicians a military operation and they didn't stand a chance. Rayden for a short time joined a small rebellion that did try to fight back but it was crushed and everyone he had been close to died a bloody and horrid death- except for him and one other friend, who died later of his wounds. Rayden has a dreadful knack of being the last one standing.

Up For Love? Sort of, yet not really. Rayden is dying, and he has accepted the fact he is dying- he wouldn't want to become attached to someone then die of them, he is far to much a protective spirit to do that. That being said, Rayden is the type who carries his heart in his hands and he would really love to live, find a girl, and settle down. He wants to find that peace that was always out of his grasp. He would be a old fashioned yet passionate lover, with a very male protective/slightly possessive streak in him, nothing weird though, just adorable.

Other: Rayden is very musical. He can sing quite well (deep manly voice,) and can play the guitar that was his fathers long ago (this is how he makes the little money he does have traveling between towns, he is a street musician.) Rayden is left handed, and has a slight addiction to sugary confections. Rayden also sports a pair of tattoos on his body. a iconic sun on his left shoulder and a phoenix on his whole upper back.

Appearance: (description and picture-and please no anime orscene- digital paintings and sketches are fine though) Brown hair and blue eyes, she's a short girl with a lot of compact muscle. Not the gross kind either, she's able to pack a punch, but not a she-hulk.

Personality: (Include likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses. you can do this in points of you prefer) She's a very melancholy person these days, but don't let that fool you. SHe isn't entirely a pushover. She has a violent streak as long as the Amazon river, and is well known for having lost her temper and tried to kill anyone and everyone. She has managed to mute that in herself in the past five years, but lets face it. Get her mad, and you're doomed.

Flaws: (every character has to have them- they make them interesting)She lets people push her around, and honestly sees nothing wrong with it, but don't underestimate her, she does have a nasty temper sometimes.

Skills/special abilities: (magic- but don't go nuts. C'mon keep it realistic) She's a light magician, the strongest of them to her knowledge, and is able to make light take on a physical form along with turning herself invisible and using flashes of it to stun people (similar to flash bangs used in warfare) She has actually gotten so strong that she was able to split a piece of her powers from her own body and give it a body of it's own, which is manifest in Kitty. Kitty is a huge, precocious creature, who is like a pet to Reva. They adore eachother.

History: (Every character has one, please give us a history of reasonable length) Born into a country that was at war with itself, some very special circumstances shaped this woman. SHe was abandoned by her non magical parents and then taken in by a man who was corrupted and powerful. He trained her not to use her feelings for anything, to basically become a furious, violent monster that slaughtered everything she percieved as a threat.

After losing the man who was like a father to her, she made friends with a large group of people similar to her, and even fell in love with one. But unfortunately, in a fit of rage, she alienated him from her as well, and believes that he has probably died already.

Up For Love? (yes/no, conditions, reasons for such?) Yes, but she is engaged to Maryx right now. She is very loyal to him, regardless of the fact that she does not actually feel any love towards him. She doesn't think that she is capable of loving any longer, especially since she fell in love with a man that was a part of the resistance. At the time neither of them were able to admit their feelings for one another and they had a falling out. They tried to kill eachother and as a result, it drove a wedge between them. They had been unable to completely let it go, and then the massacre happened. She hadn't watched him die, but sees no way that the man could ever have survived it because at the time he was dying with some illness. Even now, five years later, she still has some feelings for him and wonders what could have happened between them if they had just set aside their pride for five minutes. She doesn't think she's worthy of love after that...

Appearance: (description and picture-and please no anime orscene- digital paintings and sketches are fine though) She's an enormous hunting cat, but with a few other features mixed in. She has the backside of a bear with the head and body of a saber toothed tiger.

Personality: (Include likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses. you can do this in points of you prefer) She's the stronger side of Reva right now. She has an attitude and since she is a piece of Reva's soul she is connected to her master in every way. She's very loyal to those she likes, but mostly benign when she doens't like you.

Flaws: (every character has to have them- they make them interesting) She's mostly a healing pet, so she has problems with hurting people. She'd rather be killed than kill, and as a result won't actually hurt people.

Skills/special abilities: (magic- but don't go nuts. C'mon keep it realistic) Like I said she's mostly healing. It's definitely her most concentrated power although she uses it rarely. She is unable to heal herself outside of her weapon form and she does have light for a secondary power.

History: (Every character has one, please give us a history of reasonable length) Kitty burst out of Reva's soul when her master was nearly killed in a falling out between Reva and her lover at the time. The two of them had been unable to face their feelings and tried to fight it out instead, nearly ending in the death of both of them. At the time, Reva had a pet that she had bonded with when she was young and had no real idea that he was not actually her pet. Kitty managed to save the lives of both Reva and her lover, but the fight had driven a wedge between them. A few days later, the resistance Reva had been a part of, a group of rogues that were fighting to free their race, was crushed. Everyone was slaughtered that Kitty's master had cared about, including Reva's other pet. The knowlege that everything she had ever loved, she lost, crushed her master and sent her into a spiraling depression until Reva reached where she is now. She misses the way her master is, and hates Reva's fiancee with a passion.

Personality: (Include likes and dislikes, strengths and weaknesses. you can do this in points of you prefer) Maryx is a man who thinks he doesn't deserve everything that happens to him. In his mind, he is this poor guy whose fiancee is disobedient and awful and he has to put her in her place. Anything bad that happens to him really isn't his fault, it's someone elses, usually Reva. He thinks that he is very powerful and very wanted.

Flaws: (every character has to have them- they make them interesting) He is a total wimp. He has no idea, but he really can't handle pain.

Skills/special abilities: (magic- but don't go nuts. C'mon keep it realistic) He's a water mage, and not too terribly bad at it. He uses it mostly as ranged attacks, and is very strong as a fighter.

History: (Every character has one, please give us a history of reasonable length) He was the priveleged son of a duke, and lived his life in luxury. About three and a half years ago he found a girl on the street, dying of starvation and took her under his wing. After nursing her back to health he became infatuated with the weak girl who gave into his every whim and is now planning their wedding. Once he wins the games, of course.

Gender: Female

Appearance:

Serena is tall and slim with long black hair that has a tendency to curl. Her cat-like features are similar to her brothers, even though they are fraternal twins. Her looks are sophisticated, although her usual exuberance sometimes ruins the effect.

Personality: Outgoing and flirtatious, Serena never seems to take anything too seriously. She tends to be enthusiastic, but she especially loves playing with her magic. She also likes to talk, and will gladly strike up a conversation about anything.

Flaws: Serena doesn’t set nearly enough boundaries. She pushes herself past her limits of a regular basis, and she has a problem staying out of other people’s business. Her tendency to pry combined with her lack of respect for personal space can easily be deemed obnoxious.

Skills/special abilities: Works illusion magic, but the more realistic the less time she can keep it up.

History: Serena and her brother Sebastian were orphaned when they were little. For years, the only thing the twins didn’t share was magic, but when she was twenty-one she developed her own power. Now the two of them are closer than ever, and she wants to prove her worth as a magician.

Appearance:



Tall, but skinny. His shoulder-length hair curls a little at the edges. With his aquiline features, he resembles his sister, but this is just a quirk of genetics. He has an aristocratic air about him.

Personality: Sebastian is a very disciplined and controlled person. He seems to keep to himself, but really hates to be alone. He is always careful to keep his face expressionless, because of his special ability. He strives to be polite at all times, but sometimes he ends up being acerbic.

Flaws: He can appear cold or distant. He spends too much time in his own little world, as often lets his sister be his mouthpiece. He is a follower, even when it’s a bad idea (again, especially when Serena is involved.)

Skills/special abilities: Sebastian is empathetic. He can sense people’s moods, and even thoughts if he actually works at it. He can’t block everything, so he’s always conscious of the people around him. He’s been doing this since before he can remember. It’s just part of life for him, although he has trained himself to remain expressionless so it won’t show so much when he affected by other people’s minds.

History: When they lost their parents, Serena became Sebastian’s whole world. His mental health depends on having familiar people around him. So she wanted to test her skills, he immediately agreed to follow her.

Up For Love? Yes.

Other Sebastian always knows where his sister is, and what she is doing and thinking. He claims this is not a “Mystical Twin Thing” but simply a combination of Serena being easy to read and his familiarity with her, and that he could do this with anyone. She disagrees. It’s an ongoing argument.

He doesn't like battle with people but will do so when pushed to do it. He cares for others and puts others' lives before his. Naive, Careless, outgoing, obnoxious at times, knows what he wants. Ambitious, a bit greedy, a bit power hungry. People pleaser. Loving, Faithful.
Likes Dogs, family, his lover, Concept of Love, friends, money, people, power, people with great and diverse personalities. Honor, Pride, Selflessness. Painting. Playing music like the guitar. Writing music. Tutoring others. goofing off - which is all the time.
Dislikes Cats, horrible people, Fighting, whiny people.
Strenths He can fight really well considering he doesn't like fighting.
