PLOT:

You are an outcast. For your whole life, you have been rejected by society- bullied; outcast; hated. Maybe it's because you've always been smarter than everyone else. Maybe it's the way you look; or your personality. Maybe it's your sexual orientation.
You are living your life as normally as you can- until one day; everything changes. By some stroke of fate; you find an unusual object- a ring. You put it on; and discover it will not come off of your hand.

You do feel a certain pull to start walking; and you do so- leaving behind everything but the clothes on your back and one or two small possessions.

That's where we pick up. You wind up; somehow; in a clearing in the woods with several others; all with similar rings.

And your journey begins. Suddenly; you each begin discovering that your ring gives you a power- only one. You make a pact to stick together and try to make sense of these new circumstances.

Your pact dictates that you will stick together; moving nomadically around the world. You are no longer inferior to anyone. You will learn to use your powers; and use them for good.

Is everyone loyal to this pact? Is everyone as good as they seem? How will you survive, so suddenly cast out on your own?

Name: Vertigo "Lollipop" or "Lolli" Petrella

Age (14-19): 16

Sex: female

Appearance (written and a picture): Lolli is about 5' 3" with a slim build. She is very pale; and has a round, cute face. She has a tendency to wear too much eyeliner- making her already huge eyes seem bigger. They are her most notable feature; a bright blue. Her hair is short and slightly choppy; a white blonde. She usually wears plain black clothing- jeans and a long tee-shirt or cardigan; and her favourite combat boots. She has five piercings on each ear; and she's started gauging them; keeping it small. She never; ever wears short sleeves or short pant legs; as she's very scarred. She's a fan of gloves as well.



Power (and description of it if necessary): Telepathic abilities- I.E. moving things with one's mind or mind control.

Personality: Lolli suffers from extreme bipolar disorder and depression. With her medication, she can control these; but only to a small extent. She has trouble making friends. She is painfully shy around new people, but her shell is breakable. If she makes a concerted effort to be friendly, she tends to creep out people or come across as weird by making weird attempts at random comments. However, with effort, you can get through to her. She has two main sides. Her first is a sweet; funny girl. She's quick to laugh, humorous; and witty. She tends to get a little perverted in her jokes, but people learn to love her for it. She has a dirty mouth and is fast to put down people who she doesn't like. Her tag-line is "I don't lie." However; even then; she shows flashes of her darker side. She's always talking about death or pain or blood; and drawing all over herself and other things with ink. She's a huge daredevil; doing risky things just to prove she can- this tends to get her in trouble. Her disorders prevent her from living life normal though. Either without warning or if especially provoked; she can snap into a different state. This causes her to be either incredibly violent and sadistic or inconsolably depressed. She has a ferocious intellect under her otherwise ditsy or insane demeanour; which she occasionally reveals in either state.

Flaws: Well; her disorders cause her to overreact- often violently- to things. Her depression can occasionally incapacitate her. She's not a people person, and can only make friends with the most understanding of people. Her powers are very draining. After a while; she'll tucker out. She has a petrifying fear of spiders; and she typically does very badly in school. She's prone to making very bad and often self-destructive decisions.She's also incredibly mistrusting.

Strengths: Lolli can be a really good friend if she can manage to stay sane long enough. She's very funny; and incredibly smart- just not applied. She can handle most weapons well; and has a basic knowledge of healing. She's very well-read and versed; and has a nice voice. She loves to sing on her own. She's a talented songwriter, artist, and poet. Lolli can also be very, very manipulative and persuasive- sometimes a good and sometimes bad thing.

History: Born in London; Lolli moved to New York City when she was eleven. Her mother was a nurse and her dad was in the army; until he was killed in a missile misfire when she was twelve. As a small child; Lolli was fairly normal- even exceedingly cheery. She loved to run around and was bubbly. She did exceptionally well in preschool and her IQ was ranked high enough to bump her to second grade when she was six. However, around the time she turned eight, Lolli began to change. She would get into fights at school- and was bullied incessantly because she was Jewish and fat. She had no friends; and would often come home bruised and with swastikas drawn on her notebooks. She became reclusive. Rather than going out to play with friends, she would sit in her room and stare at the walls. Eventually, her mum took her to a doctor; who diagnosed her with childhood depression. When she was ten; she entered a new middle school in the slums. Even though she was younger than all of the year sixes; she was exposed to much of the same things they were. She started doing drugs- specifically meth- when her one friend (a 13 year old named Josh who had stayed back and took pity on her) introduced them to her. She lost her fat quickly; dropping fifty pounds in one year until she was dangerously thin. By the time she was eleven; she had started cutting herself. Her dad had become distant from his only daughter, scared. Her mum had become stressed beyond belief; screaming at her- even more so when she happened to see Lolli's scars. Things climaxed when Lolli turned eleven. Declaring her name was no longer Vertigo; she started to go by Lollipop. She renounced her religion and ran away from home with Josh. Nobody knows quite what happened during the three months she was away- but they found her one day in an alley standing over her emaciated friend, who had a stab wound in his stomach and lay dead. They only heard her say one thing: "He raped me." This was the start of the mood swings. Convinced getting Lolli away from her home country would help; her parents moved to America and her Dad re-stationed outside of NYC. When a missile shooting went wrong on her 12th birthday; Lolli found herself without a father. Re-entered in an American school; Lolli found that the taunts had stopped, but nobody liked her. She was "too scary" or "too weird" or "a stupid tweaker". She had no friends other than a few members of the art club who would smile at her occasionally. By the time she entered high school; he had given up. She went through the days alone; rarely slept; and stayed with solid D's to keep her from dropping out- except for an A in art. She got arrested for shoplifting often; and occasionally hung out with drug gangs on the weekends until they too pushed her away.Lolli only made one friend- a transgendered girl-to-boy named Abalon; who only hung out with her because neither of them had anybody else. She continued her miserable existence until just recently when she found the ring.

Name: Micah Tallow

Age: 16

Sex: Male

Appearance: Micah has chin-length red hair, and a ton of freckles. He has bright green eyes, and wears stylish glasses (at least, he thinks so). He is around 5' 7" and has a slim figure, but he isn't particularly athletic. He usually wears a button down red shirt and black skinny jeans, as well as bright red Converse All-Stars. He also like wearing top hats.


Power: Teleportation. Micah can instantly transport himself and anything that he is touching to anywhere on the globe. Also, if he knows where an object or person is, and has touched said object or person before, then he can bring it to him with a thought.

Personality: Micah is generally a happy-go-lucky kind of guy. He loves being around other people, and tends to talk A LOT. However, he can be prone to fits of sarcasm. He is also fiercely protective of his friends and does not take insults lightly. He loves to read and take walks in the rain, and even though many people think him weird, he tries to make friends whenever possible.

Flaws: He reacts to a lot of things based solely on his emotions, and not rational thinking, which can get him into trouble. He is also very talkative which can really annoy people.

Strengths: Micah is a very intelligent person, although he doesn't always use his brain. He can also fence and is very protective of friends.

History: Micah has never known his real parents. He was given up for adoption, but no one ever actually adopted him, and he has lived in several foster homes, some of which were pretty abusive. Despite that, he has remained steadfastly cheerful as a kind of compensation to the misery of his day-to-day life. He is currently living in a foster home in the town of Cheyenne, Wyoming, and repeatedly gets yelled at and beaten by his foster father. He goes to the local high school, but has few real friends.

Ring: His ring is composed of clockwork and brass; very steampunk.


Other facts: He loves to read, and does so in every spare moment.

Yay! I really was looking forward to it...

Name: Austin Maddox

Age: 17

Sex: Male

Appearance: (written and a picture): Austin is obsessed with his appearance, especially his hair. He doesn't have much money, so he normally wears vintage clothing from charity shops. He always looks good though because he knows how to find fashionable clothes, even in cheap shops. He's about 5"8 and has a more or less average build. He has messy, dark brown hair that's longer at the front and top, but shorter on the sides (like in the picture/gif). He has shocking green eyes and rather pale skin.

Power (and description of it if necessary): Austin can communicate with the dead by seeing and speaking to them. Before obtaining the ring, he'd already had supernatural experiences twice, but the ring enhanced his powers and made them far greater.

Personality: Austin's an outgoing guy and is very impulsive. It's as though he just says things without them even entering his head in the first place. He also does not stop talking. He doesn't care much for other people's opinions on him because he's used to being judged about his sexuality. Although he didn't show it, the abuse he sometimes received used to make him doubt himself. It doesn't bother him much at all now, although there are still some cracks here and there. Even though he comes across as perfectly confident, if anyone brings up emotions, he shuts up. It's the only way to shut him up, really. If something isn't going his way, he worries about it like hell, but hides it well. Others think it's just impossible for him to be sad beause he always seems so happy. His ADHD is the main reason he's so loud and chatty, but it has toned down a lot since he was a young kid. It comes more when he's excited or nervous about something.

Flaws: Austin doesn't mean to, but he can often come across as cocky or arrogant because he doesn't think before speaking. He hates that fact because he wants to be friends with everyone, but his impulsiveness can often offend people. He's a brave guy except for when he's on his own. If he's alone in a dangerous situation, it can end very badly because he struggles to even breathe sometimes, let alone protect himself when he's on his own. He's not the smartest kid in the world either. Academically, he is pretty smart, but he makes some stupid decisions and comes out with some stupid things too.

Strengths: Partly because he practically has no thought process, Austin doesn't worry about the bad things that could happen if he does something. If he knows that he has to do something dangerous, he'll do it. Austin also loves people, so if there's anyone feeling down or anything like that, he's good at talking to them and cheering them up.

History: Austin had an alright childhood. It had its bad moments, but it had its good moments too. Up until he was seven years old, he lived with his mother in London. She often left Austin on the house on his own while she went out to do whatever she wanted. Around when Austin turned seven years old, his mother couldn't' be bothered with him anymore because he was costing too much money. She took him deep into a forest so they could 'have a picnic', but she ended up leaving him on his own without any food, clothes or possessions of any kind. She left him completely on his own. It almost took four days until Austin was found by a dog walker. The forest Austin was left in was haunted by an evil spirit that did a lot to mess with his head. It made him feel, see and hear some really nasty things. This was his first supernatural experience.

After being found, Austin lived in a number of foster homes and children homes until he was sixteen. Some he liked, and some he didn't like. He was living with a very religious family when he came out as gay at fourteen years old, which really wasn't a good idea. His foster parents were disgusted, and the eldest brother of the family ended up beating him badly and then leaving him unconscious in an alleyway. It was during this time that Austin had his second encounter with the dead, except it was a good spirit this time. This spirit led a passer by to find him in the alleyway before it was too late. Austin was living in his newly bought, first apartment when he found the ring.

Ring: (picture and/or description):
When there are good spirits near, the eye in the centre of the ring is green (like in the photo), but when there are evil spirits near, the eye turns read. If there aren't any spirits near, the eye colour becomes clear.

Other facts: Because of what happened with his mother leaving him and the horrible things that happened to him in the forest, Austin absolutely hates being alone. If left on his own for too long, he can have panic attacks, and he sometimes even passes out because of it. He also has a rather noticeable cockney accent.

Up for love (and orientation): Yep, although Austin's not 100% sure on his sexuality. Because his mother abandoned him as a kid, it's made him less trusting towards women, so that may be why he hasn't even given being attracted to them a chance. He definitely likes guys though. He may be bi, but it's as though he doesn't want to admit it to himself. It's a bit of a weird situation really.

Age: 17 (almost 18)

Sex: Female

Appearance: Olivia is a skinny girl. She is also about 5'6. She has no curves whatsoever and you can see her ribs. She usually wears simple one-color tank tops and knee length skirts. She loves being barefoot, but if she must wear shoes she just wears flip-flops. Power: Olivia has the power to sense all the fears and insecurities of all the people around her. She also knows what words and actions she can provide to comfort them.

Personality: Olivia just wants to be loved and accepted. She has always tried to make herself like society wants, but it just never worked. She never stands up for herself or her opinions. She assumes that whoever she is talking to is right and she is wrong. She even lies to people just so they will like her. She thinks if she agrees with everything they say they will be her friend. She has always struggled with her self confidence. Because of this she slowly drew away from society. She went into herself.

Because of this Olivia always felt like she wasn't there. She was just a tiny speck of dust turning around watching the world work around her. Olivia does not want to do anything. Yes, she will read hundreds of books on a subject, but she never actually tries to start that garden or store. She will watch a million sports, but she never actually wants to play. She automatically thinks she would be horrible at any of these things just because she has never tried them.

Flaws: Olivia is very quiet and she will almost never speak up for herself or her ideas even if they are good. She is very skinny, so she wouldn't be able to go a long time without eating before she would get to a critical level, even if she wants to get to that level. Olivia doesn't have any hands-on skills. She can be easily manipulated.

Strengths: Olivia is very smart even if she doesn't show it. She has lots of useless facts stored inside her head. She also is a hard-worker if you can get her to think that she isn't doing everything wrong for an hour or two.

History: Olivia's parents never got her. They were lower middle class people who were generally rough and crude. Even as a kid Olivia could never live up to her parents wishes. They wanted her to be in sports and get good grades. As she turned into a teenager Olivia started to realize that her parents had different expectations.

Her mother expected her to get a boyfriend. Her father expected her to want to go to parties to drink. Her family had always had parties, but Olivia had never actually participated. She had always holed up in her room, but now parties were expected of her. She found drugs, cigars, and alcohol all around her. Her parents somehow were basing her off of her popularity. She always thought, do they really want me to end up like my loser of a brother who is a drug addict? But they seemed not to care. Olivia was even made fun of by her mother for not losing her virginity by the time she was 17. Good thing her mother didn't know Olivia had never even touched lips with someone.

Needless to say this completely backfired. The summer after her Sophomore year Olivia dropped out of school. It was not because of bad grades or misbehavior. Olivia always made sure to get A's and she never fought with anyone at school even if she didn't have friends. Olivia didn't want to go to school. All summer long she stuck her nose in her books and didn't speak to a anyone besides her parents.

What no one seemed to realize was that Olivia had been struggling with anorexia since her freshman year. She had been thinking of bulimia or anorexia since she was 10. Olivia had never in her life had more than ten pounds more fat than she should, but she had always thought of herself as huge. It was just like she also had always thought she was ugly.

By the end of Olivia's 'Junior' year, though, her parents did finally notice. They did make her go to therapy. It didn't really help, but by the time they let her out Olivia weighed 125 pounds. Though she still was struggling with depression, self confidence and so many other issues her parents somehow deemed her as 'fine'. She had always been a thin girl, right?

So, Olivia finished her Senior year like she had her first. She read and wrote a lot. Notebooks and notebooks were filled with essays and reports. She studied science and history in all aspects. She also studied myths. But as the year dragged on her parents started to get her to go places. Being with people didn't work for Olivia. Being alone for so long had lessened her social skills even more. People tried for a while, but after sometime they didn't even try anymore. She became the girl who was always there, but no one actually knew why she was there. Olivia wanted to be liked, she blamed her weight for this and went slowly back into her anorexic ways. (By the time our story starts she had dropped down to 114 pounds.) But then one day she found a ring, and she had the urge to walk.

Other facts: Olivia's favorite color is green. One thing you would not know about her is that she listens to screamo, metal, and rock. Her music is the only place where she doesn't care what people think. It is also the only subject she will stand by her opinions on.

Olivia brought a notebook that serves as her diary and a small handheld mirror with her. She also brought a toothbrush, toothpaste, dental floss, and mouthwash with her. She is obsessive about keeping her teeth clean. She originally had black hair, but when her mother died, she went into depression and started doing crazy things, like purple hair. She’s a pretty girl with angelic features, and a slim body. She's not very tall, about 5'3, but she likes to wear heels, more often then not you'll see her in layered cami's and jeans.

1.Empathy.
She can control what people are feeling, change their minds, and feel their emotions.

Personality:
She’s rather rebellious. If someone tells her no, she is more than likely to say yes. She doesn't trust many people, but once she trusts you, she tells you everything. If she considers you a friend, and you betray her, she will calculate her revenge. She can usually judge your character after only talking to you for a few minutes, and she has yet to be wrong. She tends to trust boys more than girls, just because she is afraid of confrontation, which is kind of weird considering how rebellious she is. She tends to be more sneaky and enjoys playing harmless pranks on her (few) friends.

Flaws:
She tends to not be able to not stand up for herself.
she is so quiet, she usually doesn't get noticed.
She hates the abnormal, but is drawn to it.
She gets discouraged extremely easily.

Strengths:
She is a quick thinker, and come up with lies on the spot.
She is very calculating, and can usually judge somebody just by their body languege.

History:


Born in Canda, she moved to the U.S. when she was five. She and her mother lived in a small apartment till her mother was diagnosed with breast cancer when she was only ten. Her mom battled the cancer until Cat was twelve, and then she died. Before she died, she gave Cat two pendants and told her to always wear them and never take them off.
Cat was shunted from foster parents to foster parents. They all were in it just for the money they recived for keeping her, and for the cheap labor. Cat ran away from each one, and then when the police would track her down, the fosters would mysteriously be gone.


Because of her weird clothing and hair, most people can her freak and a prostitute, so it really wears down her self-esteem. She tries to avoid normal people gravitating toward people like her.

Her Father has never been around; she doesn’t even know who he is. She has been trying to find out, and have found some disturbing things. (More on that in the SB)

Age (14-19): 18

Sex: Female

Appearance (written and a picture): She has long, wavy, dark auburn-red hair, very pale skin, and gray-green eyes. She's always perfectly manicured and neat, partly because she's a perfectionist, partly because her parents are rich and so she has the resources to look amazingly groomed all the time. She always has her hair down, diamond stud earrings in, and thin traces of eyeliner and mascara (less than in the picture). When she walks into the woods, she's wearing a gray crinkle cami with black lace at the hem, Silver (brand name) jeans, and green patterened flats. She has a silver watch on her right wrist, along with a charm bracelet.

Power (and description of it if necessary): Avril can manipulate light - grow it, diminish it, bend it, condense it, spread it.

Personality: Avril is quiet; not because she's shy but because she doesn't talk unless she has something to say. She doesn't really have any friends, so she spends most of her time reading and doing photography; a lot of time alone, isolated, and so she's a bit awkward around people. Her family's rich, and she has a nanny that watches over her; her nanny, Ellie, was paid to go with her everywhere but school, to ride with her to the building and be in the car when she's picked up, and if Avril wants to go anywhere - like, say, a mall, or a movie - Ellie must go with. This nuisance has taken away any social advantage she might have had by being part of a wealthy family. Ellie is the only person she's at all comfortable around, even though her behavior's being watched, because she's always there.

Flaws: Socially awkward; doesn't know how to live without money or a nanny; folds up and ignores her emotions; has never had a real relationship with anyone; doesn't have a lot of strength or endurance, though she won't admit it; can be very passive thanks to years of following strict rules and never being left to her own devices; she's never been given much freedom.

Strengths: She's smart and clever; she'll never complain and she'll never admit she's unable to do something - she'll use up all her energy trying to keep up with everyone else until she's physically unable to; she'll never give up on something.

History: Both of Avril's parents run a multi-branch corporation; because they're always working, they didn't want her subjected to a lonely life in the cities without council, and so they sent her and her nanny, Ellie, to a small town to grow around. However, this didn't work as they'd hoped; because of Ellie always trailing her, and having more money than everyone else and so making them jealous, Avril's been declared an outcast.

Ellie was inside, seeing to dinner, when Avril found her ring.
