Pipppa felt herself leaning into the kiss. She didn't want to, but she did. She pulled back and put her fingers over her lips. "I-I-I have to go." She said jumping up and running towards the entrance. She stopped outside of it leaning against the wall her heart pounding. She had just been kissed, her first kiss ever! She breathed in and out trying to calm her breath.

"Calm down, it can't mean anything." She tried to convince herself. But to her it meant a lot. To her it meant way more then it should. She swallowed hard, he would have to come out soon and she needed to get the heck out of there. She wasn't sure she wanted to though. She quickly grabbed some ballons and snuck back in looking for him.

He called his hands into a fist and lowered his head.

What was he doing?

Was he getting emotionally attached to a bet?

Why was he?

Brent was dead.

But at the same time...

Dangit. He stood up and ran towards the enterence. She wasn't getting away that easy. She lived too far away for one and a thousand other things for two.

Leal saw him start to leave and she threw the ballon at his back. IT hit him square in the back and she smiled waiting to see what he would do. He spun around and saw her a smile comign to his face. She smiled and then ducked behind a board watching her.

"I know where you are." He laughed. She smiled and threw another one in his direction.

"Prove it!" She called back.

He went to the other side of the board that she was watching from. He managed to get right up next to her before he whispered "boo." In her ear. She screamed and turned around tackling him

"Okay," she giggled, "you know where I am."

Her cell phone went off she picked it up.

"Hello?...Oh hey Cole...In town...With Colt...she is? Crap...I'll be home soon...Mind if I crash at your house tonight?..."

A spear of jelousy twisted in his gut.

"Your couch is comfy enough, and your living room is warmer than the stables...thanks...I just don't want to go home yet...Oh they won't care...I'll call and leave a message with dad...They won't care and if they do dad'll still be the one to tell...Okay see you soon. Bye."

She hung up.

"So your dad pays attention?"

She nodded, "he's away a lot though."

"Need a ride home?"

She smiled, "thanks."

Pippa smiled and put up some more of the ballons away in the ben by the door as they walked to his car.

"Here, put this on your seat, I don't know if that paint will come off." he smiled. She put the towel over her seat and sat down on it smiling at him. They drove off and she yawned. "Not tired are you?" He smiled.

"Just a little." She laughed. "What about you?" She asked.

"A tad." He laugehed. "You are good at paintball."

"Told you so." She smiled. Her mind wasn't on the paintball though, it was on the kiss. She felt she had probably seemed very unskilled, which she probably was sense she had never kissed anyone before. But to her it had been amazing.

Colt had the same off look as her. He figured that she was thinking about the kiss as well.

"Whatcha thinking about?" he asked.

"The kiss." She paused and pressed her lips into a tight thin line as if she hadn't meant to say it out loud.

They were at a red light and he turned to face her, "what about the kiss?"

"It was really good."

He leaned closer, so close he could taste her very sweet breath. He was about to kiss her again when she somewhat laughed. "Colt," she said.

"Yeah?"

"The light's green."

Pippa watched him sit back up and drive through the light. Her heart was racing at top speed. It was insane. They stopped at yet another light and without another word he pulled her face to his pressing their lips against her's again. Lights burst in her head and she fought everything in her to lean to far in it. A horn honked behind them and she pulled away her face red.

"It's green." She barely managed to whisper. He just nodded and drove through it turning down her driveway.

Colt's thoughts were too skattered for any phone call to Brent yet.

He had to wait ten minutes after he had dropped her off before he could manage it.

"Hey guess what?"

"What?"

"I kissed her, Twice."

"Foul play."

"How is that foul play?"

"You cheated."

"How did I cheat?" Colt demanded.

"YOu probably stole them, I doubt she kissed you back!" Brent growled at him. This wasn't fair.

"She kissed back." Colt said. He was smiling, Brent could tell.

"Just wait til I get to be with her more."


Pippa:

PIppa laid on her bed looking up at the ceiling her heart racing. She took a deep breath trying to settle herself. What would happen tomorrow when she saw him. Would he act like she didn't exist again.

"Pippa, answer your phone!" Her mom yelled. Pippa grabbed her ringing phone.

"Helloo." She answered.

"Pippa, you haven't answered your phone in ages." Cale growled.

"Sorry, I've been busy." She said still dazed.

"What were you busy with, and don't lie I saw who dropped you off." He replied.

"I went paintballing with Colt." She admitted.

"Why?"

"Stepmom was getting at me and he was there ready to distract me."

"Oh. You still crashing here tonight?"

She shook her head before she could remember that he wouldn't be able to know she did that, "nah I'm safely in now."

"Okay, see you tomorrow right?"

"Yep."

When she hung up the phone she made a decision, she wouldn't look for him, he'd have to come to her.

Pippa walked to school the next day trying to make sure she didn't seek Colt out. She'd not let her resolve down.

"So, what's gotten into you?" Cale demanded as he walked next to her.

"Nothing." SHe grinned. "Just not wanting to be in school."

"Oh, so what else happened when you were with Colt?" Cale asked.

"Nothing much, why are you so nosey about it. You're never like that." She said confussed.

Brent mosied up over next to Pippa.

"Hi." He said.

She jumpped and looked at him as though he'd vanish if she stared at him hard enough. "What do you want?"

"I want to talk to you."

"Why?"

He sighed, "I want to know you."

Cole turned around and walked away, leaving her defenseless.

"Why would you want to know me?"

"Your sisters painted quite a picture."

She started laughing.

Pippa was going to kill Cole for deserting her like that. "I'm sure whatever my step sisters have said couldn't be any good."

"I wanted to see if they were right with what they said about you." He smiled.

"Of course." She shook her head and laughed. "So arethey?"

"I haven't been able to know you well enough." He smiled. She prayed someone would come over anyone, this was just out there.

"So how would that get changed?"

Brent gained some bravado and slid closer to her, "come with me to the beach and watch the sunset this friday."

Pippa laughed, "that's just a bit cliche."

"Well...not really, a bunch of us go."

"Who is 'us'?"

He listed off a bunch of names, slowly realizing that her eyes got wider and wider with he assumed to be fear. "What's wrong?"

"I can't go to that," she stuttered.

"Why not?"

"People who are going to be there...don't like me."

Brent shrugged, "They won't bother you."

"Okay," she siad, "I lied, what I said was the understatement of the centuary."

"LEt me take you then," Colt said appearing out of no where, "I won't let them bother you."

Pippa looked at Colt surprised and she bit her lower lip.

"So, if I come no one will bother me?" SHe asked with a slight smile.

"Of course." They both said.

"They won't bother anyone with me?" She asked.

"No! They wouldn't bother..." Brent started.

"Then I guess me and Cale are going to come." She said jumping up and turning around walking towards her class. She stopped and turned back around. "If they will be mean to me or Cale tell me now or I'm not about to come." She said crossing her arms.
