As you may notice, you can now know whether or not you have new notifications before going to the notifications page. This took me a very long time to do, so you better be thankful. Or else.

But, that's not all.

In order to show you how many new notifications you have, I had to first create a table to store notifications in. Then, I had to create five different programs to create those notifications. What this means is that all your notifications are saved going back two weeks (after two weeks, one of those programs automatically clears them out to save space).

Now what that means for you is that very soon, you'll be able to log back out and not have your notifications cleared. You'll even be able to see a listing of your notifications for each day going back one week.

On top of that, you'll soon begin receiving weekly updates from YWS based on your notifications. So if you received 5 new reviews, you'll be notified of that at the end of every week via e-mail. Of course, not all notifications will be in the e-mail; just the more important ones. We wouldn't want your e-mail to start looking like this.

Just finished making some of the promised enhancements. You can now look up your notifications going back one week, and you can also clear your notifications. Note that clearing your notifications does not mean you deleted them. Even after clearing your notifications, you can still look them up going back one week.

Additionally, notifications are now listed by day. However, this does not work perfectly as some notifications go by the time of the last reply/post/comment. So, for example, you may have a notification saying you have "57 replies in X topic." But those 57 replies are probably spread out over several days, and its place in your notifications list is determined by the time of the last reply. If you end up finding this to be annoying, let me know and I'll try to find a way around it.

Thank you, Nate!

A mere technological mortal like myself can't begin to fathom all of...that...that you posted there above.

So I'll just leave it at thank you.

Updated the notifications area. For details, see the first post.

Due to the number of enhancements in that area, there may be some bugs. I've done my best to root them out, but if you find some, please report them in the "Report a site bug thread" as soon as you can. Thanks!
