The YWS Radio Channel:
http://www.blogtalkradio.com/yws

Having just finished with the pilot of the Young Writers Society Radio program, we are now moving to create a YWS weekly radio show on Sundays. To accommodate as many global listeners as possible, the time will vary from week to week.

On Sunday, September 30, 2007, the first episode of the YWS Radio program will run from 4 to 5 EST. A quick rundown of times for your locality is at the end of this post.

This will be a LIVE radio program. As such, feel free to call in! The program will follow this general order:

1. Introduction
2. News & Announcements
3. Shoutouts (You can call in at this time)
4. Possible Member Interview
5. Poetry Jam

The call-in number will be provided during the program. Participants for the poetry jam will be taken on a first come, first serve basis. To participate, all you need is a poem! If you don't want to read your own poem, no problem. Just be sure to say who the poem is by. For example, "I am reading The Jabberwocky by Lewis Carrol."

The episode will be saved as a podcast so you can listen to it later.

Beginning a half-hour before the program, a link will be provided at the top of the default template. Otherwise, just go here:

If you have questions, just let me know!

That may be a good thing... I'm listening to it right now, and it's filled with awkward pauses and moments of randomness...

But in any case, the pilot was a smashing success! Over seventy people tuned in! I'm guessing only a third of that were members from YWS. The remaining were probably people who saw it on the "Live Now" list over at blog talk radio and decided to check it out.

Yes, very random...XD

Fun to listen to, though! It's a grand idea, Natester.

OMG! Where the blazes was I when this happened?

Curse you Spanish homework! *shakes fist and impatiently waits for next episode*

P.S. I'm not sure about the locality times- the website is telling me that the next episode starts at 1 p.m. on Sunday. Something funky there, but I'll tune in then just to be sure.

P.P.S. I'm MST, for the record.

Wow. I sound like a weirdo. :/ It's funny. Hehe. I'll try to not breath into the phone more. And try not to sound like a 76 year old rapist. Ew.

Hahahahaha! The funniest part was when Caludette dropped something. Haha. SO funny. Nate was laughing too.

Next time around I'll set it up so that you can call in with just a microphone that is attached to your computer. It's supposed to be possible (and may have even been enabled for the pilot, but I'm not sure). That way, it costs you nothing to call in just as long as you have an internet connection.

Sweet!

I'll work on tweaking my mic settings, then. I'll have to check it out when I actually have my headphones... :P
