lol, I might get lambasted for this, but I don't like Tolkien... I've tried reading the Hobbit and LOTR, but I can never get into them.

WHAT!? :x WHY MUST YOU PUT DIRT ON THE FAITHFUL NAME OF JOHN RONALD REUEL TOLKIEN!? FEAR MY WRATH! MUAHAHAHA!...Sorry, I am OBSESSED with him as much as Crysi is with dragons. I guess a lot of people dislike him, so I kind of agree with your opinion. But, keep your guard up because for the next time someone says that, they will not get to see tomorrow... :D just kidding! But, I do love Tolkien!

You may not like him, but you have to respect him. He created orcs, and he's an inspiration to most fantasy authors out there.. He was one of the best fantasy writers to ever live, besides ME that is..

He didnt create orcs. He just used them, orcs are from the 5th century and were feared and thought as the old age bigfoot. By the way, can anyone see my avatar, I cant! I dont know why...

Yeah, and just so everyone knows, Unfinished Tales and all of those were published by his son Christopher, although JRR wrote it. I wonder why his books never won an award or anything, only oscars as a movie!

I voted the Two Towers, because I love the bit when Merry and Pippin are captures by the orcs...

I have a friend who doesn't like tolkien. But then, he doesn't really read respect books that much. He reads NON FICTION stuff, mostly. The best story he ever apreciatted was Artemis Fowl, and that was only because it had fairies with guns and everyone talks like they're in a war (his new obssession)

That was not meant to offend other LotR haters (or non-apriciaters) it's just why I think he doesn't like tolkien.

G-D! Artemis Fowl? I simply detest that book! I mean, how can a boy be a mass burglar/robber guy?
