Yo.

I'm thinking of heading over to the U.S of A next year to do a semester or so of my university course there. What I am discovering is that it must be certain universities only--if I'm to get a scholarship grant--San Diego State University, University of Arizona, University of Miami.

Anyone from those areas? ANyone know if said universities have writing courses?

The biggest factor for me is cost, lol, which is whats starting to make me lean away from going to America and going somewhere cheaper. Accomodation will be a bitch.

Failing that does anyone know of other places they could suggest, the world over?

San Diego State is an excellent college, not to mention I live near it. I've heard Arizona is good too. I know for a fact San Diego State has English and writing courses.

Oregon is the state above California, Jig.

:D

If you have any questions about SD State, I can ask around for you.

Okay, so it appears to be the best one so far, with a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing program available.

If you could find about out about costs, accomodation and etc I'd really appreciate it.

They do? Could you link me to this information? And perhaps provide what I've asked of Cal as well?

Thanks.

Aww, U of A. In that other town. (I only say that because my loyalties lie with Arizona State, the rival school. But I'll do my best to set that aside. =D)

My uncle went there. He took a lot away from it, but he was in the engineering programme. I really dunno much about U of A, but go there! Because Arizona is awesome. ;)

Shameless plug, I know.

But, if I know my economics right, Tucson isn't an expensive place to live. Although it does have a high Mexican population. It's sort of referred to in a derogatory way as Northern Mexico. xD

Anyway, here's some info on the school, tailored for transfer students: http://www.arizona.edu/future/ts/transfer.php

Also, if you need a backup, there's always Arizona State University, which my brother says has a good writing programme.

Hope I helped!

Stop beguiling me with your vaired offers!! *sobs wildly*

It seems to be a choice of Dono or Cal - I wonder who I could bludge more off lmao? Which of them could support my crazy aussieness and off-the-wall random touristy questions?

Hmm... My choice will be made on cost lol.

Forget all them, come to St. Louis!!! *sigh* Except, yeah, unless you want to pay an arm and a leg for Washington University, the colleges in the city aren't brilliant. But bird wants to meet Jiggity! hmmm.....*is now planning an invasion of whichever he chooses*

I think WASHU in my area has a lot of foreign students, but that is amazingly expensive and private and all..... [Gyr already mentioned WASHU xD]
