Good Morning/Afternoon/Evening/Night(whichever one it is in your part of the world),
Dropping off potentially my last review for the day,
First Impression: Well...nothing too dangerous. Looks like an explanation awaits and then possibly a happily ever after. Maybe. Looks like Ennet, Gerscin, Odela, Birt at Lestili are not going to be making any more appearances. But then what do I know. Let's see.
Anyway let's get to it,
He’d met the ship and made contact when they were minutes away from the Hub, and had never felt such an overwhelming sense of relief as he was admitted back into the belly of the larger ship. But now, as the triple beep signalled he should enter, Janny reflected on how times had changed.
Good to see him get back to his life.
“You have now entered the flight-space of- Wait, how do you know my name?”
Wait the captain personally does the greeting of the space craft coming into its flight space? I thought this would be more of a pilot's job.
“It’s me, Janny. Er - Rolgen Gomm, head of maintenance!” Janny declared. He pulled himself up to full height carefully and felt his head-spikes lightly brush the ceiling. He rubbed the back of his neck. “I suppose we could put this down under holiday time?”
So he recognizes the captain's voice but the captain doesn't recognize his voice. I guess that does make sense.
Janny frowned, wondering absentmindedly where Lestili had got a non-Endoleon ship. Then he cast his mind back to the previous day’s schedule of tasks. “Ah! I know that your waste disposal system needs unclogged.”
Well that's a very interesting point. Maybe that missile was sent for more than reason. Am I overthinking this?
“Why, maintenance worker Upumsel, no less,” the captain replied. He spoke as loudly as ever, but there was a tightness in his voice.
*round of applause for Upumsel*
“Yes,” the captain replied. There was a pause. “I have him booked in again tomorrow to clean my bathroom ceiling.”
*stops clapping and is busy rolling around the floor laughing hysterically*
“If you say so… Gomm, could I ask you a question?” the captain asked, somewhat quieter, but still with his natural richness.
“Of course,” Janny said, as the blue craft finally landed in a small, dimly lit room.
“Where the starshine have you been?”
Looks like we have an explanation in order soon.
Aaand that is probably it for this day. I will definitely get to the last two parts tomorrow at the latest.
Overall: Aand looks like this plot is coming to a close. So far it has no holes and considering this is pretty much the end I don't think there will be any holes in the future. Overall this was a blast to read today. And your characters are all really likable and well written.
As always remember to take what you think was helpful and forget the rest.
Stay Safe
