Autumn Leaves are Falling Down

by Snoink

Autumn leaves are falling down
Falling down
Falling down
Autumn leaves are falling down
My dear daddy!

Get the rake and rake 'em up
Rake 'em up
Rake 'em up
Get the rake and rake 'em up
My dear daddy!

Don't forget the leafblower
Leafblower
Leafblower
Don't forget the leafblower
My dear daddy!

Stack the leaves so tall and high
Tall and high
Tall and high
Stack the leaves so tall and high
My dear daddy!

Watch us jump and play with leaves
Play with leaves
Play with leaves
Watch us jump and play with leaves
My dear daddy!

Make us rake the big mess up
Big mess up
Big mess up
Make us rake the big mess up
My dear daddy!

Autumn leaves are falling down
Falling down
Falling down
Autumn leaves are falling down
My dear daddy!

I think there's something wrong with me mentally because even though the poem held all the clues of being kind of a simple, child-like version of the London Bridge Is Falling Down song, I was expecting it to have some sort of a dark, sinister ending. No lie.

That is the most awesome suggestion so far. If this poem weren't 5.5 years old (eek, I am old) then I would probably tweak it as such. As it is... well... I think that it's fine for something that I did hyped up on sugar when I was 17! :D

I'm locking this... feel free to review more awesome, recent poems! :D

Hahaha! I just loved it! I was singing it while I read it! It was beautiful and it made me laugh.
Now I'm happy and you just made my day! Thank you, thank you so much!

Hehehe I bet the kids were singing this while raking the leaves up. :) I thoroughly enjoyed that. Good day!

Hehe! Yeah I must agree that this is awesome. Taps into your inner child though many of us here are still considered "children." Haha! Good take on the song. :D

This was interesting, except the verse about the 'leafblower', it was too hard to read easily....

I don't want to read this again or I'll find myself repeating it.....

'rake it up
rake it up'...aaak!!

I am so very glad that you aren't in any regular contact with little kids, otherwise this might catch on, thus forcing me to kill you.

This could be very annoying if they continued on forever and ever and ever and ever...

Get the idea?
