Butterfly

Beautiful Creatures
Fragile
Live for just a day
Yet they fly in my dreams
Feel the breeze of their wings
Look into their eyes
The dreams of butterflies

Meadows become colder in the wintertime

In a meadow once, a butterfly flew,
With wings so bright, and colors so true,
Graceful and free, it soared in the sky,
Like a dream, that was just passing by.

But fate had a plan, as it oft does,
And the butterfly found itself at a loss,
Caught in a trap, its wings were clipped,
Endless hours of misery, it faced, unripped.

A shadow of its former self, it lay,
Unable to flutter or fly away,
A prisoner now, within its own shell.

As I lay here, gentle eyes turned skyward
My breaths become smaller, ever more quiet
Around me the world moves in its own way
The sun rises and sets, the wind blows and fades away
But at my side, a butterfly has come to rest
Its wings unfurled as though to comfort me best
As I slip ever closer to the end of my time
This tiny creature remains, a sign of life sublime

All around me, the world continues to grow
But here in my final moments, I am not alone
For this butterfly has brought me peace
A simple reminder that in this life, love does not cease

And though I'll be gone before much longer
The butterfly will stay, steadfast and stronger
A witness to my final breaths, a symbol of hope
In death, surrounded by life, I will learn to cope.
I promise this type of pain only gets worse

Spoiler! :
what an amazing start! These poems are so emotional and moving and the imagery is exquisite! You can actually feel the poem coming off the page. And I love the rhyming scheme and flow especially in "Meadows become colder in the wintertime" And I love the butterfly theme, and I am exited to see more!

How to Find Strength in the Heart of a Broken Butterfly

I am a broken butterfly, my wings they cannot spread
My heart it beats within my chest, but hope has long since fled
I long to see the world anew, to dance upon the breeze
But fate has dealt a cruel hand, and left me on my knees

I watch the others soaring high, their beauty on full display
While I am stuck here on the ground, broken in every way
The tears they fall like raindrops, but still, I cannot cry
For though I am a broken butterfly, I cannot help but try

I may never know the joy of flight, or see the world from above
But still, I hold on to the dream and whisper words of love
I pray one day I'll spread my wings, and take to the sky so free
But until then, I'll keep on trying, to be the best that I can be.

Make me a rose, a dead one please

If I die, I would love to be
A butterfly so gracefully free
Fluttering wings in the summer breeze
Drifting skyward with effortless ease

To dance along the grassy plain
And flit among the fields of grain
To float on currents, light and airy
With boundless energy, never weary

Or, if the butterfly cannot be
Make me a rose, a dead one please
For even in death, a beauty remains
A symbol of love that forever sustains

Petals of red, pink, or white
Glistening with dewdrops, pure and bright
Sweet fragrance still lingers on

Long after the bloom is gone

So if I must leave this life of mine
Let me be remembered as divine
As a butterfly or a withered rose
Forever in our hearts, my spirit glows.
I promise this type of pain only gets worse

Black butterflies, oh how they flutter,
Softly, swiftly, like a whispered mutter.
In gardens, they seem to bring a chill,
Silently dancing, bringing an eerie thrill.

Their wings, once captivating, now a sign,
A warning, a signal, almost divine.
For death is near, impending and grim,
A presence that towers, never growing dim.

Yet, how can such beauty be so dread,

A creature so fragile, in black it's now clad.
Maybe it's a reminder, a message from afar,
That time is fleeting, and death is never far.
[i]
So, let the black butterflies dance and soar,

As they remind us of life's ever-changing score.

A fleeting moment, a dance so brief,
A whispered promise, of passing belief.

I promise this type of pain only gets worse
