Uhh… I don’t know if I’m putting this in the right place or not, but I had this discussion with friends irl and I wanted you ask you guys!

If you were in a movie/show/book, what kind of character would you be? Now, I don’t mean “if you played in a pre-existing movie, what character would you play?” Or “if you could be any fictional character, what would you be?”

What I mean is “if a whole new show was being made, and you were magically transported into the world of the show, what type of character would you be?”

Lemme go first: I would be the goofy side/background character that everyone loves. I’m talking scrunkly-scrimblo levels of goofy. And then maybe at some point I’ll become important to the plot and get lore and stuff.

So, tell me, YWS, what kind of character would you be?

Ooh this is a fun question! Hmm just off the top of my head, I might be the mysterious guide/ mentor figure that brings the protagonist into the world of the story.

The one in the horror movie that goes to investigate the noise with a flashlight and a ball bat wrapped in barb wire. C:

that one gal with slightly dark humor and a collection of Stranger Things shirts who would probably be one of the protagonist’s friends/acquaintances who talks nonstop about her obsessions.

I'd either be typecast in one of two roles.

1. The quirky side character with the BIG personality who dresses in a distinctive style and gets all the funny lines—but who is, sadly, not the romantic lead. Far from it. (To quote a lyric from Funny Girl: "Though I may be all wrong for the guy, I'm good for a laugh.")

OR...

2. I'd be the haunted character with a dark past and a bad childhood who is now all ~mysterious and enigmatic~ and possibly mixed up with some shady stuff, and there'd be a line at the beginning of the movie/show where the main character is warned to stay away from me because "that one's trouble."
