All writers have habits of theirs, strange or not, that may or may not help their writing (many famous authors have enjoyed writing while naked ). I don't write naked, heh, but I have some writing habits.
For instance, I find it hard to write in the morning and the middle of the day. In fact, I write best late at night, from about 11 PM to 1 AM. Note the time of my post; I am still very much awake after finishing a chapter of one of my stories. :twitch:
It is difficult for me to write when I don't have an internet connection. I can still write, but I like to minimize browsers with my research articles, other people's stories, or discussions I am in. For some reason, reading or looking at my comfort sites on the web helps me write more smoothly. Maybe it's like writer's porn or something.
I like to have pictures of the current scenery in my stories. I'm going to be writing a chapter set on a beach soon, so I have a dramatic black and white picture of a beach on my desktop. It really inspires me. I will change the picture when I come to a different scene in the story.
Do you have any?
