I love to write in the first person. I always write from the character's perspective. I personally find it more interesting.

I don't really have a specific one that I write in more than any other, but a lot of times I find it helpful to write in first person because then it limits what I can write to what that person knows. Then I don't have to worry quite so much about information overloads... although, in rare cases, it makes them worse...

I tend to write in the second person's perspective. I have no idea why.

First person.
I have trouble with third.
And I've never bothered to try second, since my writing teacher said it didn't exist.
I corrected her though.

Mainly third, but every now and then I'll do one in first. I've only ever written one in second person and I didn't know this Buchanan thing existed until two minute ago. don't really understand it :?

An everlasting dream,
That makes me wake to find myself
In my own eternity...

The Buchanan thing is just a joke, Mars. It doesn't exist, but it does rule all. 8)

I always write in third. If it sounds good that way, I keep it. If not, I go back through and edit it (and VERY long process. Urgh.) Rarely will I begin in first.

Second person is interesting. I've only seen this done well once, and it was in a book of short stories. I'd never read a novel written this way - it's too...confusing? I'd love to give it a shot one day, though.

Third person omniscient mostly, although sometimes I use first person.

I usually write in third person, but I seem to often find myself writing in first person (usually in my spur of the moment writings).

first person is great because you can show what the character is thinking and tell it from their point of view. plus you can use sarcasm.

I mainly write in first and third.
The main reason I write in first only if there is a lot of interesting stuff going on in my characters mind.
The main reason I write in third person if there is a very good plot and if I want to have part of the story told away from the main character, or if I have more than one main character in different places.
I never write in second, though I might try it some day to see if I like it.

I prefer 3rd person, myself. It just seems to work better for my writing. I also enjoy reading books better in the 3rd person, so that definitely affects my preference :D

Personally, I find it kind of awkward doing the writing while referring to your character as "I" instead of "she/he".

I prefer first person, but that's all I've really tried.
I plan on writing in third person eventually. But I
don't really understand Buchanan Perspective.

What's Buchanan perspective? Someone want to enlighten me?

Anyways, I like first. Third is a bit too impersonal for me.

Nate wrote:Buchanan Perspective = Fourth Dimensional Entity founded upon some variant of Literature at the Quantum Level (i.e., the book you're reading is just a shadow of the fourth dimension. In the fourth dimension, the Buchanan Perspective holds).

Explosive_Pen that was Nate's definition of Buchanan Perspective.
It hurts my head to try and think about what it means.
*scratches head* I still don't understand....
