This was difficult after some thinking about the question...

I prefer hardback books because I dont have to worry about how fragile they are, cause they're not as fragile as paperback books (you should see my Harry Potter books. Yuck! I must get them replaced). However, I now respect my books so much more, so I don't mind paperback.

As for the other choices...does not compute. Get back to you on those

Hardback books are the way to go for me.

I prefer Paperbacks because they are cheaper and they usually take up less space in my Bag when i have to travel.

But when a new book comes out and i cant wait for it to come out in paperback i will buy it. but then feel guilty at the price i payed.

What can i say I am cheap!

Hm, I have to give some thought on this one.

Hardbacks are durable, but expensive. (yup, I'm another cheapy)
Durability is nice though when you get it, and the covers are beautiful, of course I hate those plastic things on the outside, they ruin the marvelous cover look.

Paperbacks are cheap, and easy to get on amazon. I guess I like them because I value my books and probably *ahem* try to protect them to much. So I don't worry about them getting destroyed.

E-books. Um, never read one, but since they're on the computer. Smokes, it must be bad on the eyes, I mean looking at the screen solidly for voer an hour?

Old books. Well they smell good, (well most of the time  ) look cool, and in my experiences are normaly old copies of encyclepedias, so not very intresting.
They are cool though.

Pat Buchanan. GAH!!!!!!!!!!!! Why is he in everything? I guess it's tradition.
Anyway I dislike that edition because it's so boring and you can't read it.

I will read e-books if there's no other edition available.

If I don't care particularly about a book, I'll get it in paperback, but if I know I will read a book again and again I buy hardback.

But when all else fails, Pat Buchanan has been in the half-price bin for quite a while now... :D

Paperbacks for just one reason: They're way cheaper than hardbacks! I am so skint most of the time, and I want to buy as many books as possible, so I always go for paperbacks.

When I loan books, hardbacks are better, though. They are stronger, and when you drop them on your younger sister's head, they hurt more, and dont crease/bend!

I like paperback. Ebooks make my eyes hurt. Hardbacks are...um..hard.

Why is there always a Pat Buchanon option on the polls??

I'm happy with paperback or hardback. I voted hardback though because they give off an air of specialness.

I've never read an E-book, but they don't sound fun. Very un-bookish. And trying to read a Pat Buchanan would just end in tears.

Sam wrote:have a book from the Civil War, too- it's sort of like an elongated version of that "Goofus and Gallant" column in the Highlights magazine (come on, who didn't read that when they were eight?)

Wow, that just brought back a lot of memories. I completely forgot I used to read those all the time, LOL.

I prefer hardback. I feel like I'm reading a "real" book, and I find they're more durable than paperbacks, which bend and get all funky.

Where does Pat buchman come into it.

Paper backs are so much easier to read then hardcovers or old books. i don't think i could read an E-book, too intense.

hmm... i like paperback and hardback...

paperback because it's cheaper than hardback in the longrun, and they will last a good while if you take care of them.
hardback I like if you are borowing from the library or whatever, but I would only buy a hardback if they tol me they were never never putting it into paperback.
Old paper is wonderful. I love it but so many of the books i have that are old are boring also. -_-

hardbacks all the way.

For one thing, they look nicer. And also, hardback editions aren't always available when the book gets older so its nice to have the original hardback version.

Paperbacks get ruined.

A vapour sometimes like a bear or lion,
A towered citadel, a pendant rock,
A forked mountain, or blue promontory,
With trees upon't that nod unto the world,And mock our eyes with air.."
