A monkey would make the most sense, but I think a dragon is cooler.

I'll cry if it's not a monkey. Will he have a cute hat?

Monkey embodies YWS more than a dragon, by far. We love to monkey around, Nate is the big chimp...it just sorta fits with the general mood of the site :)
Got YWS? I do.

The only reason I see for having a monkey mascot is the fact that we all monkey around. But the way I see it, most people on here that I've seen that activelly particapate in the chats and such are fantasy/fictional writers. This means the a dragon would make more sense. This is just my opinion mind you. Also, a dragon just sounds cooler, as monkeys are everyone's new favorite animal (trust me, that's the big thing in middle school).

Except dragons are strictly fantasy--we support writing of all kinds.

I dunno. To me, a dragon just screams "I'M A TOOL."
Got YWS? I do.

Im not joining the monkey bandwagon, but I dont think that dragons would work either just because thats a creation of fantasy, and there are more types of writing out there than fantasy. So I choose Kangaroo!
But that is not the question. Why we are here, that is the question. And we are blessed in this, that we happen to know the answer. Yes, in this immense confusion one thing alone is clear. We are waiting for Godot to come. -Beckett

DUDE. MONKEY. You know you want to...

Besides, monkeys vaguely have to do with FREAK since the word "banana" is in FREAK. See? Dragons aren't in FREAK at all! Thus, you must vote for monkey. See? My logic is completely sound.

Ah, the wonders of an anti-conformist mind. It's not about bandwagons, or cliques, or what's popular in high school....it's about what best fits with the YOUNG WRITERS SOCIETY.

...and that's a chimp.

God I sound like a politician.
Got YWS? I do.

I still stick with dragons.

Mostly because they'd eat me if I didn't.

But, you know. They're still awesome.

So there. *sticks out tongue*
