Most of us use at least one of these options for travelling every day. My normal day includes some walking and some riding on the bus. I walk to most places because it's easy and most places I go to are near, but if I'm going further and had to choose a favourite way, I think I would choose the train.

Even though taking the plane does mean that I'm going somewhere exciting, I'm not a huge fan of flying, although I'd rather take the plane than the train if I'm going somewhere far away.

What about you? When travelling to a distance, do you prefer the independence of a car, or would you rather challenge yourself by hiking or cycling?

P.S. I decided not to include things like skateboards or skis or space shuttles, as they either can't take you very far or you can't take them, full stop. ;)

Edit: "Car" is not an option because it's not environmentally friendly and you shouldn't drive a car apparently I forgot it. Sorry if this disturbs your poll user experience. I'd edit it and change it but then some people have already chosen something else and they can't change their vote, so. ;)

I love riding the bike. It's breezy and thrilling. :P

I'll get back to you in about two months. XD

Because as of now, I've never really traveled anywhere by anything other than car, except for an airplane a couple of times when I was little. But now that I'm moving to Japan, I'll have a lot more experience with all this.

I'm voting train, though. Because trains are cool.

Well.. it depends really. Mostly I ride a bike wherever I go but when my mom needs me to go somewhere with her, it is a car.

I chose bus/coach because that's sort of like a car and cars are the best. I loooooove long car road trips. I grew up doing long road trips in the car with my family. I love it because you can see things along the way and you have more control/power of what you do.
I also did a Lot of traveling in high school and college in buses and 15-passenger vans. My record is a 30 hour bus trip with every seat filled & we only stopped for food. Good times :)

My favorite is running, which counts as on foot, but I'd choose any of the other ones over walking, and boat was a pretty close 2nd.

I had to go with trains as my favourite, because I do enjoy a good train ride, whether it's a country train (like the one I usually take to get into the city) or trains within a city itself. I got a lot of enjoyment out of the metro in Paris last year!

I'm not sure how I fell about planes. I like airports, and the whole technological side of it's pretty awesome, but several twenty hour plus trips have kinda ruined it a little.

Sleeping is the easiest way to travel, obviously. If your dreams are lucid, that helps a ton, but unintentional travel is good, too.
