It's been a while since this question has been the official poll, so I thought it would be interesting to recreate it!

Favorite to write or to read? I like writing fantasy while I like reading horror.

Good historical fiction always impresses me. Instead of having the freedom and ease of writing your own world (fantasy), you have to put in a lot of research to try to develop a story in very precise parameters. I think it demonstrates extraordinary attention to detail and skillful writing!

Same. I'm one of few people in the world that can hardly bear reading fantasy, but loves writing it. And horror's awesome to read and write. :smt003

I am actually so happy that not many people have chosen 'Romance'. For many reasons.

I myself am torn between Mystery, Action/Adventure and Historical. I love genres that make you think! I've also been really into Sci-fi lately :)

The genre which I love to write is rarely acknowledged. While many write fantasy or adventures and read horrors or mysteries, satire is unfortunately abandoned by most writers as well as readers. Even I am a big fan of thrillers but I wish humor or satire writing got its well deserved share in literature.

So hard to choose.

My current favorite is Sci-Fi, but then there's like Young Adult Fiction which I have no idea where it would fit, and I still have a special place in my heart for all those fantasy novels I used to love.

Mysteries are the best!
Our thing progresses
I call and you come through
Blow all my friendships
To sit in hell with you
But we’re the greatest
They’ll hang us in the Louvre
Down the back, but who cares? Still the Louvre.

So true! Writing one for the first time, and I was amazed once I got started how much harder (but better) it is
