Plot: The school bus was supposedly traveling to New York. However, there appeared to be something weird going on. For one thing, they were driving in the opposite direction of the city. For another thing, there just seemed something... off about the driver...

A group of high schoolers who are supposedly going to a field trip find themselves suddenly in a rundown town. At least, most of the buildings are rundown. Two aren't. The first one is a giant, high-tech looking lab in the center of the town. The other is a massive mansion out in the middle of the woods to the west of the town. Something seems weird about the town, especially the mansion. It gives off the same vibe as the driver. The only place that doesn't give off a certain strange vibe is the lab place in the middle, which seems normal enough besides the obvious.

Spoiler! :
General info that the high schoolers don't know yet: The town is called Nightville and is filled with monsters. You know, vampires, werewolves, zombies, etc. However, they aren't evil. In fact, they are being oppressed by the supercomputer running the place. It is situated in the lab, and it is called DZ-1043. It was made by a mad scientist (Frankenstein) to rule over the monsters after he died. The mad scientist's brother was a sorcerer, (Merlin) and he made a magic barrier around the entire city to physically keep the monsters inside. Both brothers despised monsters and tricked them into the deal that keeps them from harming the computer. Then, the brothers taught the rest of the world that monsters are all evil and eat humans. Dracula, however, came up with a plan, and that's were the bus comes in. The teenagers are unsuspecting recruits.

Spoiler! :
Important NPCs:

Dracula -- He's the (You guessed it!) vampire that lives in the mansion. He's also the head of the rebellion against DZ-1043. His mastermind plan is, since the monster are magically sworn to not harm the computer or its enforcers, to get outside help. He spent decades finding the right spell to get someone past the barrier, and now has finally succeeded, so he has gotten Baba Yada to do the spell on a disguised zombie.

Baba Yada -- the witch who did the spell. She lives on the North side of town, and her house is recognizable by all the deer skulls on the fence surrounding her house. (She likes hunting) She's quite grumpy.

The driver -- The driver of the bus is the zombie that drove the kids to the town. Doesn't really have much of a personality. He's just kind of mindless. (pun intended)

Ralph -- Ralph is a werewolf. He's Dracula's loyal friend through all the vampire's schemes. His personality is that of a loyal servant. (Kind of like a dog)

Frank -- Frank is basically a giant zombie with a brain. However, what nobody knows (including him) is that he is actually the remains of Merlin, because when Merlin died Frankenstein was so distraught he brought his brother back to life, only to find that his brother didn't retain any memories. Frankenstein died of grief, as his brother was the only person he liked.

Any other characters can appear if the story needs them, or if someone wants to be a monster instead of one of the teenagers.

All right, I believe that's all!

Harold

Harold Gregory sat in the bus. Nobody was sitting next to him, which was unfortunate. He had a whoopie cushion that he wanted to use. That was probably why nobody was sitting next him, actually. They all knew him too well.

He frowned. He was a highschooler, and the field trip that the bus was bringing him and his classmates to sounded boring. Not that he had been paying attention to what the field trip even was for, other than that it was in New York. He picked at the worn out seat next to him, pulling at the hole and digging some fluff out.

He looked out the window, and his frown changed to one of surprise. Why were they going south? New York was North of here. He could tell because of the location of the sun.

“Hey, driver,” he called up.

“Huh?” came the reply, which sounded almost like a grunt. The bus driver was weird. He constantly slouched in his seat, and sometimes his head rolled from side to side. It was bizarre.

“Isn’t New York that way?” asked Harold.

“Uh… no. New York is this way,” said the driver, but only after he had scrunched up his eyes in concentration for several seconds. Harold wondered what the driver’s IQ was. Probably something like seventy. Well, no. Probably sixty. At least he seemed like a safe driver.

Harold stopped talking. Maybe he was wrong, and it was a different time of day than he thought. Something about the situation seemed weird, though. Very weird.

He listened to the others chatting to each other. They didn’t seem to notice the peculiarity of the situation. Then again, they were talking to each other and probably weren’t thinking about it. However, Harold noticed that a few people were staring out the window, seeming to notice what he noticed. They tended to be the more quiet people. Harold called back to anybody that would listen.

“Hey, guys, have you noticed that we’re going in the wrong direction? Just wondering if anyone else noticed.”

A few girls and a guy looked over at him.

“Yeah, I noticed. We’re probably being kidnapped so that we can be impaled on spikes,” said a girl wearing a black leather jacket. Harold was not expecting that.

“Um…” he said, rather startled.

“I actually noticed that too,” said another girl who had darker skin, curly hair, and brightly colored braces.

Another girl who was sitting in the front of the bus who had bright purple hair looked like she was about to say something, but then closed her mouth.

“I figured that out a while ago, because I live in New York,” said a guy. He looked Russian.

Harold nodded. So he wasn’t crazy. He replied to the leather jacket girl:

“I doubt we’ll be impaled. Kidnapped? Sure. Impaled? Nah. It’ll be worse. We’ll be forced to take a really long, really hard exam that counts as half of our grade,” he joked.

He turned back around and sat forward again, putting in headphones. Whatever was happening, it sure seemed like it was going to be more interesting than a boring ol’ field trip.
