The events that transpired after that fateful night were the result of a series of miracles. The first of these miracles was a group of four friends, fresh out of high school, who found themselves inside the Eastern State Penitentiary in the midst of November. This was accomplished with the help of the friend of a friend, but even that was a miracle in itself. They were armed with everything a ghost hunter could possibly need, a plethora of geeky references and a brand new YouTube channel to upload anything they recorded.

The second miracle to occur involved another group of four friends. Like the first, they had somehow found their way to the Eastern State Penitentiary on that November night. They had already gone to several other supposedly haunted places, but they needed something much more eerie to complete their mission of scaring the living – for these friends were ghosts.

The third miracle was when – whether by a stroke of luck or extremely good planning on the part of the ghosts – the eight all arrived at the same section of cells. Even when the ghosts began to pull their usual pranks, the four had stayed.

The fourth miracle was one that none of them were aware of when they entered the prison, though it would ultimately change their lives. A mysterious organization known simply as Thanatos was conducting an experiment on the ghosts that had been in that cell at the time. Though they had left nearly a week before, a single piece of equipment from their experiment remained.

The fifth miracle was that the four ghost hunters discovered the strange device. Its purpose was unknown to them, but they decided to pick it up and pass it around. The technology somehow unlocked a dormant ability in each one of them. They were suddenly able to see the four spirits that had been plaguing them the entire night.

The sixth and final miracle was that the eight would eventually become the closest group of friends the living and the dead had ever seen.
