SpiritedWolfe says...

You might have heard the rumors,
but they're just like all the others.
[Someone knows where it is.]

You've thought of finding the artifact,
and feeling its powers in your fingers.
[If only it really existed.]

You dreamed of getting out,
but you didn't think it was real.

The Realms and Artifacts

Ages ago, King Thoren of heaven created from the ashes of a world ravaged by war the four realms: earth, isles, heaven, and there.

earth and isles are far off lands not often touched by the inhabitants of heaven and there. As the legends go, inside earth is a powerful monster imprisoned by King Thoren's strength. To create balance, King Thoren split his power three ways and turned them into artifacts that would stay in the remaining three realms. This act placed King Thoren in a deep sleep, stuck in a plane between life and death.

The artifact of isles is a silver rose, guarded by a consciousness known as the Collection. isles is the realm of the dead and so it can only be reached by spirits, which is why its artifact is thought to be safest out of the three hidden. The realm is kept secluded by an infinitely deep and infinitely wide chasm; the only way to pass it is to die.

The artifact of heaven is a golden sword, guarded by King Thoren himself. It is rumored that should one disturb the sword, he will awake to defend his power. Only those with another artifact could even hope to face him. However, in the perfect realm of heaven, no one would dare to ruin the balance secured by their beloved ruler.

The artifact of there has been lost to the ages. No one can remember its guardian and no one, not even the guardians sent from heaven, has been able to secure it since its creation. Perhaps it's best to remain that way, so that no fallen angel, or worse an impure, uses its power to create mass chaos.

The Races

There are four main races in there: the fallen, the impure, the mages and the guardians.

The impure are the counterparts to angels in heaven. Every angel has an impure that encompasses every negative trait they could have possessed. This is done to keep balanace in the universe and so heaven stays a utopia. Therefore, the impure have no good qualities or so little that they're negligible. The impure are often savage-like, though there are some with prefer to mess with their victims psychologically. The closest thing most get to feeling "love" or "caring about someone" is their relationship with their family, which is fiercely close.

Then are the fallen. These are angels that once lived in heaven but were cast out for one reason or another. The reason is often minimal, so the fallen aren't all bad when they first enter there. It's later on when the energy around them corrupts them. Often times, the one quality that got them cast out flourishes into a more extreme version, which is called their insanity, but they are never completely bad people. They are also much better magicians than the impure.

Next are the mages. Mages are essentially any child of the fallen. They are someone who lives in there but has never seen heaven, let alone been cast out. Mages are strangely rare in there because it fairly difficult for a fallen to take care of themselves, let alone a child or lover. They are considerably good at magic, even better than the guardians, but they are often physically weak. Those few mages that are scattered around there often have to be crafty and street smart to make it very far.

Finally are the guardians. Guardians are essentially the stereotypical angel. (Angels in heaven are only called angels because they are in heaven. Guardians are the only ones with wings.) They will likely find themselves in there because of exceptional skills in magic -- to disguise their wings -- and extremely set in "perfection". Which means that it is harder to taint them because of the energy in there. Guardians never live in there permanently and are always rotating in and out.

The Roles

The Visceral - A partially spontaneous, partially unpredictable character who is more likely to listen to her instincts and emotions. She works closely with the Tactician to form strategies and plans. As a fallen without magic, she relies on her physical abilities to fight.
Marissa (SpiritedWolfe)

The Tactician - An extremely knowledgeable character who is highly educated and new to the world of there. S/he is a fallen from heaven with incredible logical thinking. Therefore, s/he may possess magical skills with limited physical abilities.
Thaddeus Kenway (AstralHunter)

The Kingpin - An unexpected character that is one of the main promoters of the group's journey. S/he is a guardian who leaks the existence of the artifact of there and directs the group on their quest to acquire it. Being of the highest elites in heaven, s/he is incredibly skilled in magic and posses the ability to fly. His/her physical abilities are not lacking either.
NPC

The Practitioner - A valuable character who possesses abilities to heal and refresh the group as they embark on their quest. S/he is a recent fallen with advanced magical skills that may harm just as much as they heal.
Open

The Magicians - A pair of characters with impressive magical skills. The two of them are both native to there, making both of them mages accustom to the harsh magical struggle. Having been born and raised in there, each might have acquired some physical skill and other important survival skills.

The Shadows - A pair of stealthy characters with an inane ability to steal and not get caught. These characters might have come from the perfect world of heaven or come from a family of inherently impure. Either way, they lack magical skills and rely on physical abilities to get the job done.
Blaise Isaac (Wolfical)
Reserved (Sheyren)

The Fiends - A pair of seemingly brutish characters who might seem only loosely tied to the group. Both are impures naturally found in the there and each have their own selfish agendas. However, both are skilled fighters and prove themselves valuable.
Osiris (Craz)
