Hann Tanabe ‘HANABE’ – A Beginning to an End

Hann was sitting on his bed, holding his Nerve Gear in his hands. He sighed softly, having a smirk on his face. “Well, time to do this.” He laid down on his bed, closing his eyes slowly as he placed the Nerve Gear over his head.

“Nerve Gear on!”

The Nerve Gear went through the username process, which was HANABE, then threw the senses process, then lastly, the programming process.

The next thing he knew, Hann was inside a world that he has never been in before. He looked around his surroundings, seeing grassy fields and animals that are out of this world. “Woah…” Hanabe, his alias in the new world, walked around the fields, loving the cool breeze against his skin.
“So this is Sword Art Online.”

Sword Art Online, a game created for gamers to experience firsthand.
At least, that’s what Hanabe thought.

Hanabe drew out his starter sword of its sheath, beginning to run. “First, I should get some practice.” He began to swing his sword, destroying creatures that were at or a little above his level. He slowly began to gain some experience. Hanabe was smiling, enjoying this world. He noticed a huge stadium, where other players began to head. “I guess that’s where we meet new players.”
Hanabe started walking towards the stadium, noticing how huge the building was.

Hanabe suddenly became surrounded by a huge amount of people, at least the players’ avatars.
He kept hearing distant conversations between the players. He smiled as he noticed how the other players were enjoying themselves.

He looked up at the sky, which was turning red. “Red…?”

The nice chattering stopped. Hanabe had a strange feeling that something bad is going to happen. Something terrifying.

“I think I should go…” Hanabe opened up the log out menu. As he pressed the button, he noticed something strange.

He couldn’t log out of Sword Art Online.

“What the hell is going on?”

When she transformed into a butterfly, the caterpillars spoke not of her beauty, but of her weirdness. They wanted her to change back into what she always had been. But she had wings.
