Given: cos ^ -1 (x/a) + cos^ -1 (y/b) = n

To prove: (x^2)/(a^2) - (2xy cos (n))/ab + (y^2)/(b^2) = sin^2 (n)

Can you please help me with this as I have a test day after. Thanks!

Don't post these things at the last minute next time, especially when there's an American holiday going on and the good math students are at home, celebrating with their families, okay? ;)

This looks very similar to the law of cosines--check that out.
