Okay, I think I am posting this in the right forum. I need some help with a scene. My character has just won an ice skating competition, and her mom is taking her and her three friends out. Not to dinner, somewhere fun for entertainment. Somewhere they can dance or play games or something. Does anyone have any ideas on where they could go?

They could go to the Mall, bowling alley, arcade, skating rink ( as in rollerblading), or anything really. But, after so much exorcize, wouldn't the winner want to do something more relaxing like going out to eat?

Hope I helped,

Calli

P.S. Also, depending on their ages, they could also go to a bar or club.

Thanks, Calli! They are 15, 16, 17, and 15. Is there a such thing as like, I don't know, underage clubs or something?

There are clubs with 'underage nights', but the youngest that I have seen them allow in is 16.

I don't know about your characters, but I'd want to cool down in a bookstore or library.

Where I live, they have these things called craic houses. Craic is a colloquial term for a good time where I come from, so unless your story is set in Northern Ireland I wouldn't exactly use that term. xD Anyway, they're basically a place where under eighteens go to socialise. Usually the person who owns the property provides food and soft drinks for a small charge and otherwise, the kids can go inside and use the facilities. Typically they'd have pool tables, a Wii or something similar, dart boards, discos, things like that.

I think though going out to dinner would be more appropriate for your character's situation. I mean, if my parents dumped me at a craic house after I achieved something particularly significant I'd be sort of disappointed. xD

An old-fashioned pizza parlor with an arcade would work.

Though, in California, we have these things called John's Incredible Pizza. Not only do they have a massive selection of pizza, pasta, salad, and deserts to eat (buffet style), but they also have a huge arcade and on top of that, a roller coaster simulator and laser tag.
