Okay, I posted this question on the Grammar & Research forum already, but I'm new, and I think that's the wrong forum, but I don't know how to delete it...
Anyway, I was wondering if someone could help me. I'm writing an essay, and I have the sentence, "Therefore, by establishing witchcraft as [a] heresy...". Do I need the [a], or is it correct to say "by establishing witchcraft as heresy..."?

I've just deleted your other thread for you :D Next time, either look out for a [x] button on top of your post or click the [Edit] one, I believe there's an option on that screen too if you want to delete a post--as long as no one else has replied to it.

As for your question--I'm pretty sure the "a" is not required.

Seconding Jag. "Heresy" does not require the a.
