Does anyone have any seriously interesting creature ideas that I could use?
I'm currenting writing in this in this insane fairytale world, and I need a large database of creatures to freak out / aid my main characters.
Thanks!

Have you tried looking at some medieval bestiaries? There's a lot of really weird and fantastic creatures catalogued in them.

Here's one online: http://bestiary.ca/
Secretly a Kyllorac, sometimes a Murtle.
There are no chickens in Hyrule.

The obvious answer and first thing that comes to mind when I hear 'magic creature' is dragon. However, I'm sure you've thought of that, so that's not my suggestion.

For freaking out characters, something that plays on nightmares is cool, so I think anything that makes characters hallucinate or mind controls characters is awesome. Or makes them go temporarily insane. It makes the readers not trust what they read.

Another freaky thing is something that is never seen, something impossible to fight. Gorgons/basilisks could work well.

I hope that's helpful!

Ancient Greek mythology is awesome for interesting creatures. Wikipedia has a whole list of creatures from Ancient Greek myth.

Qilin, Kitsune, or Peryton. Just google them XD
