At one point last year I was over 8000 words behind AND STILL WON. And at this exact moment I'm less than 5000 behind. So even though I haven't been hitting the goal lately, lol DO NOT DESPAIR FOR ME I WILL GET TO 50K.

WE MADE IT TO ACT 2 BABY! Let me tell ya, act 1 is a mess and it's taken a lot of self control not to go back and fix things. I have a much better sense of what's happening and I have a feeling act 1 will need to be streamlined a little because 19k is a little long for act 1 for me. BUT WE'RE MARCHING ON AHEAD.

Day Eighteen

OKAY I need to kick it into gear if I will avoid writing 15k in 3 days like I did last year because I WILL GET TO 50K. I WILL.
I haven't been feeling the bunny rom com. There are parts and elements I like and am excited about, but on my way home from figure skating tonight I was like you know what I want to finish my figure skating romance (aka Falling on Thin Ice aka the Liz + Zac reboot).

SO YOU KNOW WHAT we're going to hop on over to that manuscript and try to get a little closer to finishing it. I've been fiddling with it for a long time trying to get it right and the figure skating season is in full swing irl so LET'S WORK ON THE FIGURE SKATING BOOK. 50k is still 50k even if it's across multiple projects. Lol I thought this would be the year that I'd "properly" do NaNo but GUESS NOT.

Falling on Thin Ice is currently at 12276 words.
I've currently written 21680 words towards NaNo.

didn't actually write that line on day 18, it was from the last time i worked on this book but you know what it counts because it made me happy when i re-read it.


I spent a lot of time this evening working out some characterization stuff because that was a barrier for me the last time I worked on this story! I also did a lot of re-reading and tweaking which is why the word count is low. But once I get back into this story I'm confident I can fly

HERE'S THE GOAL.
I'm trying to write 10k over 3 days (today, tomorrow, sunday) which will be 3333 words per day to help me catch up. DOABLE.
That will put me at just around 3000 words behind which feels a lot easier to catch up from than my current deficit.... (8182 words behind.....)
