Estella Fay's Poetry
Spoiler! :
Flowers for Stars, a ballade.
I used to feel alone at night,
sitting by myself in my room.
But then I spotted the stars' light,
and suddenly, I wasn't doomed.
Now I feel my heart start to bloom,
sitting here in the damp and dark.
Suddenly, I've somehow improved.
Now I give flowers to the stars.
I suppose I wasn't quite right.
I would sleep through the afternoon
after staying up 'til sunrise.
But my only friend was the moon,
betrayed by my kind, I assume.
So now I am loved from afar
and listening to the moon croon.
Now I give flowers to the stars.
It's in thanks I give my small prize,
gratitude for brightening my tomb.
I am still trapped here for tonight,
but it's enough to ease the gloom.
Now starlight is like a perfume,
easing the deep ache of my scars.
Now I can survive my next June.
Now I give flowers to the stars.
But as midnight gives way to noon,
it is evident that I'm harmed.
But I will get my relief soon.
Now I give flowers to the stars.
